kevinmabbuttshair
Berry Brothers have pretty much withdrawn it from high street sale over here now, buts its really big pretty much everywhere else in the world. I got a litre in duty free at Barcelona airport for 13 Euros- cheaper than milk (almost) Irish Whiskey is a big hole in my whisky experience actually- no idea why, just always had the idea that its all rubbish, probably because I've only ever had Jamesons from over there. I've heard good things of Red Breast and Green Spot among others so maybe I'll have to rectify my lack of knowledgew I had a Bushmills single malt in a very expensive hotel bar in London a few years ago. Was very nice
chipdawg
Anyone tried Japanese whiskey? Im no connoisseur but have enjoyed them a lot and i belive they have produced some award winning bottles these days. Brought one of these back from Japan a few years back and it was excellent IMO.http://www.amazon.co.uk/Yamazaki-Year-Single-Malt-Whisky/dp/B003ZIS7OA Japanese whisky is broadly fantastic; if you can get it, there's a blend called 'Spirit Of Asama' by Kuruizawa which is amazing. The Kuruizawa Distillery has now closed but a company called Number One Drinks bought all the outstanding stock and bottled it up

MichaelRobartes
I love Powers and Kilbeggan, but I'm clearly biased. Ancnoc is great stuff, but probably a bit of an acquired taste.
herman
some of my favourites - tobermorey 15 highland park 12 (classic all rounder, the NAS einar release is good too) dalmore 15 (love the fruitiness) lagavulin 16 - probably the best smoky scotch out there

Was very nice In the days when single malt Scotch was almost unavailable down South, I used to enjoy the occasional Bushmills.
