From Wikipedia:

"On 27 November 2013, Crawley Town terminated Barker's contract with immediate effect. At the time of his dismissal Crawley had not won any of their last seven games, scoring just once in those games."

Just the man we need, then?

i seriously hope the bookies have this wrong as this would be a utter disaster

Odds merely reflect the risk each bookmaker is willing to take with each candidate, those with a short price will have attracted most money, that is all.

Ironically one of those seven was one of our two wins.

Just looked up Barker's record as manager, not too bad at all, so would not write him off instantly. Seems joint favourite with Cotterill, another manager with a pretty decent record. Thought we might have looked at Appleton, and one name not mentioned is Richard Money, not a bad record and doing brilliantly at Cambridge.

Russell Slade anyone?

That's who I'd like but signed three year contract back in the summer. Barry Hearn stood by him during his dodgy 2nd season and they're now reaping the rewards, possibly a lesson there.

He may view the job as having more potential than Orient.
