You Do The Dziekanowski
people talking about a "back 4" - what game were you at?! very clear 5-3-2 with wing backs Sorry sir I thought it was a 4-4-1-1 .....Osborne Flint Williams Cunningham ................Pack Waggy Gillett Reid ................JET ..............Baldock
Oxford Red
In all honesty his distribution is absolutely appalling.
EDoubleD
Definitely 532. Wags and Cunningham wing backs. Shorey came on centre mid for Reid as a 3 with pack and Gillette. Might of looked like Osborne went to RB as that's how the formation works when try get behind the wing back.
herman
Osbourne was often pushed off to the right as a target for goal kicks nd to allow wags to push up more, was fairly staggered but for me a back 3 with wing backs where Cunningham naturally adopts a slightly deeper role than wagstaff

Sorry mate but you are completely wrong and Dziekanowski is clearly right, Osbourne and Cunningham were the full backs, flint and Williams in the middle and Pack was the shield in front of them. Cotterill had clearly done his homework and Walsall were rendered pretty much impotent.

No mate, you are completely wrong, as we played today and at notts county, three centre backs, Wagstaff wing back along with Cunningham. Gillet and pack protecting the defence, Reid pushing on a bit. Then JET and Baldock
Roger Red Hat
Personally, I think it was a very fluid system and varied throughout the game.
bearded_red
Thought Flint, and all the defence in fairness, was superb yesterday and on Saturday against County. He'll never please everyone, but if he carries on the form he has shown in the last two games he will be a real asset as we look to climb out of trouble. HoldenBall
Personally, I think it was a very fluid system and varied throughout the game. This. The formation changed a lot during the game, normally from a 4-4-11 to 3-5-

Gillet and pack protecting the defence, Reid pushing on a bit. Then JET and Baldock I think we were 4-4-2 for the first 65 mins then switched to wing backs later in the game. First half definitley Osbourne was a right back and Wagstaff a wide midfield player. Wagstaff dropped deeper and Osbourne tucked in midway through second half imo
Lrrr
352 through to about 75 minutes where you could see Cunningham dropped into left back. Before that you could see Cunningham played further up about the same distance up as Wagstaff. Shorey came into CM when he came on.

I accept that later in the game there was more fluidity but it was a definite back four with Pack in front for the first hour plus.

Gillies Downs Leeds
Covering for Wagstaff when he went forward Wagstaff must have spent the whole of the first half forward then because Osbourne was hugging the touchline right down in front of me. Red-Robbo
Osborne was immense today. Really hope we can keep him long term but guess it depends on the new Millwall manager Correct. Probably my MotM for an all-round performance. Gillet was absolutely great but only in the second half, and Flint was powerful, won everything in the air, and what we want to see. Don't begrudge him his award, after some of the stick he's received. I'd also like to say Greg Cunningham has returned from his wilderness weeks to be the sort of player we know he can be. Welcome back Greg!

Correct, people who think Osbourne was playing central defence in the first 65 mins really don't have a clue about football formations.
Taylor10
Flinty was colossal yesterday. His best performance yet. He was pretty good at Notts C to be fair but was very good yesterday.

I agree, although for me Gillette was MOM. The next stage for Flint now is to start scoring some goals from corners. He should have had two against Walsall. Had a few chances against Walsall as well as quite a few others this season.
