Eddie Hitler
This I think should fully explain why people are taking every word of the 5 pillars far too literally. There would have been a huge amount of senior staff staff time and consultant costs put into the fatuous piece of nonsense that is the five pillars concept; it deserves ridicule. Oxford Red
First off, I have to say I take the whole Pillars thing with a pinch of salt. Like several have said on here, it should be a guide that the club wants to sign younger players with careers in front of them who can either grow with the club successfully or earn the club a lot of money by being sold on if they are exceptional. Pillars or not - tell me a club that doesn't have that as a strategy operating in Championship to L2..... I do have to say though that the selling of it has been pretty amateurish. 1) Go back and watch the Lansdown interview of appointment of O'Driscoll and how it is important for the term "Head Coach" to fit in with the club strategy. 2) Then watch Lansdown's interview (not even a year later) on the appointment of Cotterill and why the term Manager is used instead of Head Coach. The level of 180 degree turns in it is quite striking.....
