Brentford On Tuesday

OK, lets draw a line under the Wolves game. We've not won there in my not inconsiderable lifetime and I doubt that I'll ever see it happen now, given that the clubs' paths are likely to diverge fairly drastically.

What about Brentford? We've got a decent record there, and it should attract a good City following.

Do we have a chance of one, or even three points? What changes should we make?

Judging by the state of their pitch last night on the tele and the weather, I wouldn't be surprised if it's off. Their pitch looked shocking!

Could be the perfect result for us, unless Cotterill can motivate/reorganise the team by Tuesday...

Brentford are strong in each department and love to get crosses into the box, so I'd go for....

Parish

Osborne, Flint, El-Abd, Williams

Moloney, Pack, Elliott, Cunningham

Barnett, Baldock

Subs:

Fielding

Fontaine

Wynter

Burns

Bryan

Reid

Emmanuel-Thomas

We would be solid down the flanks without possession with 4 defenders out wide and in possession Moloney & Cunningham strengths are going forward.

Pack & Elliott to sit and protect the our central defence.

Barnett in to hold the ball up and bring Baldock, Moloney & Cunningham into play.

So you'd start with Barnett who's not match fit, logical.

Drop mr. undroppable ?

Agree that pitch is not a pitch for him .barnett type conditions.more for a bit of brute force than elegance

Agreed. Stick with a back line and let them learn to play together. Every successful side has done the same.

I would agree with you but Brentford use a lot of width and also push their full backs on, we will be overrun on both flanks.

Now if we had a midfield who would help out, then that is a different matter.

What are people basing starting Barnett over JET on then? Just curious considering Barnett has not even shown a glimmer of anything worthy of displacing our top scorer. I know he has only had limited sup appearances but it's an awfully big shout claiming we should drop JET. We have bigger issues.

Maybe we should play Fontaine left wing back then, like Osborne played right wing back?...

Yeah, I think that could work.

How about Carey as holding midfield (Cotts has previous at this!!)

So that's :

                    Parrish

El Abd - Flint - Williams

Osborne    -  Carey -          Fonts

Maybe stick Maloney & Cunningham on the wings too.

I'm sure Brundle and Wilson could sit with Carey and then have Maloney and Greg on the wings. Spain don't need strikers so why should we?

You are being a bit stupid to be honest.

Clearly, Fonts and Osborne should start on the opposite sides.

Now now. No need for name calling just because you don't agree with him.

The great leader says that we are going to win this. Gut feeling. :)

Maybe I should have slipped in a smiley emoticon.

Anyway, if we win on Tuesday I'll convert to communism and worship the Great Leader for ever more.

I think it's a good idea to go back to the Osman days of playing 4 centre halves, far too much of a luxury as well playing a bloke who has only scored 18 goals and a dozen assists which is far more than the rest of the midfield put together, the stupidity of some posters on here is endless
