Why are people (or one person) here talking about the playoffs? Absolutely no chance - laughable!

What we do have is a very real, highly likely chance of being relegated. Our position in the league at present is false and tenuous. Too many teams below - and above us - have games in hand over our beloved club. Yes - games in hand are points that still have to be won, but if those teams only win one third of their games in hand plus, say,  one draw we will be in real trouble. So it is unlikely we will reach the teams above us, and it's most likely that most of the teams below us will catch us (apart from Stevenage who are looking distinctly in the mire).

Very real, not 'highly' likely.

Exactly. Anyone who watched Tranmere outclass us for the first 45 mins will know this team is poor and will do well to avoid the drop.

None of the teams below us have won a third of their games so far this season, what makes you think their form will improve over the last few months?

We said that last season. Sheff W and Barnsley went on a decent run also Peterboro although they just missed out.

It's panic though isn't it. Why all of a sudden are people worried about teams near the bottom winning 33% of their games?

They (as are we) are at the bottom for a reason.

March/April 2006 - won 7 out of 8 including 5 on the trot.

Feb/March 2007 - 5 consecutive league wins.

Not quite the 11 game run we had under Danny Wilson, but at least we managed promotion under GJ. Danny Wilson's team were great to watch no doubt,  but failing to win promotion that season was very poor.

We also got 7 wins and a draw from 8 games (including 5 wins on the bounce) in january/february 2009. :)

We're not five wins off seventh place, we're five wins and everybody else in between losing most of their games off seventh place. You would need about a dozen wins in a row to get anywhere near. There is more chance of Lord Lucan riding past us on Shergar.

That's funny Lord Lucan was last seen riding Shergar on a rubbish tip on a village green near Long Ashton so theres always hope!!
