HoldenBall
We'll he's a mid table player playing for a mid table club, I think he meets the standard. Not when they splash the cash in the summer.
CITYAREREDANDWHITE
Neither are Jones,Young and Smalling I think jones could end up being a good player. Just needs to find his position, and that's not CDM, it either RB or CB
WolfOfWestStreet
Not when they splash the cash in the summer. Will players want to join a team out of the champions league? I dunno I suspect they will still be a big enough draw for some but when the BT deal comes in any team out of the top four is going to be well cut off from the rest. If the money is right, big players will come. But it will be a hindrance, plus David Moyes is hardly a glamorous manager to play under.

B-Rizzle
I agree about Jones - been a fan of his ever since I saw the u-21s at AG a couple of years back. However, I am worried that his utility man tag is still following him. Long term he's clearly a defender (RB or CB) I just wish Moyes would start playing him there! downendcity
If we had a fans petition re player selection, SC would be lucky to put out a 5 a side team.
Taylor10
Cleverley shouldn't be anywhere near the England squad at the moment. He isn't good enough. A petition though is absolutely embarrassing. Granted Cleverley is crap but there have been many many players that have played for England that have been a lot worse than he is and have escaped criticism. I'm all for opinions but they have to be constructive and this is just completely over the top.
One Team In Keynsham
I think jones could end up being a good player. Just needs to find his position, and that's not CDM, it either RB or CB Jones seems best at CB from what I have seen of him. Issue then comes who to put alongside him. True. He's not a big name in Europe. Barcelona, Real Madrid and Bayern Munich all changed their manager in the summer, like Manchester United. Hard to imagine the name David Moyes coming up in discussions at any of the 3 as to a possible new appointment.
Northern Red
Embarrassing behaviour. And yet the morons who've signed it will be the first in the queue to say that players don't care about playing for England as much as they do for their clubs, without making the connection. Portland Bill
I don't rate him but the petition is embarrassing. Same as that. If he played for Hull City he wouldn't get near the England squad. But for someone to start a petition is fn stupid.
Red Skin
Probably the same reactionary idiots that applauded Beckham's effigy being hung. Cleverley is decent young player suffering from a lack of confidence no doubt not helped by Man Utd poor form. Some really sad b@stards in this country. Glenn McConnell a Sheff Wed fan in Blackpool is the culprit. I'm sure twas a joke initially and hopefully Cleverley, his representatives and everyone else will see it as such as we seem to have lost our sense of humour in this country. westred1
If he's selected ahead of Carrick for the WC it will be a travesty. Carrick is a very underrated player.
Lack of Action Man
I'd rather someone started a petition to get Milner out of the squad. We have much better options than him now and the fact he's "the ultimate utility player" as the pundits keep saying every England game just doesn't hold up anymore I'm afraid. MichaelRobartes
Don't agree with him being booed but never seen anything from him to suggest that he'll be a good player at premier league or international level. Realistically, at 24 he needs to get a move on and start proving people wrong.

Taylor10
He shouldn't be anywhere near Man United IMO. No he shouldn't be anywhere near united either. I too think Carrick is under rated but surely Cleverley can't and won't go over Carrick? I can see Henderson going at the expense of Carrick if anything. It is absurd that there is a petition against Cleverley going though. There are a lot of players who got away with going to the last one that offered much less than Cleverley does. At least he could potentially improve with age. Unlike some of the utter shite that went to South Africa

This is probably why Huddlestone doesn't make the squad. I think he has the game that could be well suited to the conditions in Brazil. It's all a matter of opinion, for me Wilshere has done little to justify inclusion. The petition by the way is a disgrace, I can only imagine what Ramsey's reaction would have been. Esmond Million's Bung
Last night England were slow, predictable, uninspiring, lacking quality IMO possibly only Cahill would get into a top 10 european team, they look to me like a team with ego's bigger than talent and more interested in playing for themselves than as a team, unlike the world's best international teams, Rooney was yet again awful but hey kerr-ching, Cole showed exactly why he's not playing for Chelsea, I gave up after an hour. Also why is it England players first thought has become 'go down' under the most innocuous of challenges and some even less than innocuous challenges, instead staying or at least staying on your feet and seeing what develops after all it's not as if we have a dead ball specialist of any great note is it?.
