Football Podcasts

Recommended Posts

Bit of a trek for work for me each day, so I've just started listening to various podcasts on the way home so I don't have to listen to Durham & Gough!

Got some history and NFL ones that I subscribe too, does anyone know of a good League 1, or Football League in general podcast? Loads about PL, but not got a great deal of interest in that, it's rammed down my throat enough!

Also take any recommendations for cricket, rugby, history, conspiracy theories, comedy etc outside of the big ones that we all know gratefully received

Wonder if Exiled robin will do another episode of cider diaries anytime soon! That's a goodun cos its city related.

Done a search for Bristol City related podcasts, but nothing came up. I know that Mr Exiled does them from time to time, I'll tweet him, see if he's planning on doing a pre season one

Subscribed to the World Cup version of this, does it revert to 'normal' football at some point, and if so will it cover L1?

Radio 5's World Football phone in is good.

Also on Radio 5 is Dr Karl's Science related phone in is good.

Thanks for these, enjoy catching up with world football, and always up for a bit of science!

Football weekly is a brilliant podcast, not much attention on teams below the championship but it has really good coverage of Spanish, German, French and Italian leagues. James Richardson and Barry Glendenning are legends

For science try the infinite monkey cage and I also like the life scientific podcast too.

Do you have any idea whether Radio 5's World Football phone-in is available online overseas?

I have tried to listen to both Radio 5 channels online before only to receive a message saying thye are unavailable outside of the UK.

How do you normally listen to your podcasts?

You could install any podcast manager and paste in the RSS feed.

You can access most podcasts through itunes.

If you register with Yahoo you could try this over the web.

Yeah, like the pair of those too, Glendenning with Max Rushton on talksport is very good, I'll look forward to him on this

And thanks for the tips on the other two, I'll try them out!

It wasn't really podcasts I was referring to (but, to be honest, I am not really sure what a podcast is - I shall have to ask one of my daughters!).

All I want to do is to be able to listen to the radio online.

I can get Somerset cricket commentary online (via BBC), but not Radio Bristol when City are broadcast nor Radio 5.

Think that is to do with licenses, can't broadcast a live game as other people have paid good money for it, I guess

That would explain it, although I just don't understand why I can pick it up on the radio but not online.

Re. 'good money', the only alternative is live streaming, which makes no difference on a pc (although no Radio Bristol commentary).

Sssssshhhhhhh, I don't think they've cottoned on to the fact everyone streams the games for nothing anyway.....!!
