CiderJar
This being our best start to a season for 109 years I thought I'd have a look and see how we did in season 1905-06. We lost two all season.... Note our next opponents (Burslem PV) finished 17th in the league that season. We followed this us with our most successful ever season in which we finished runners up in the entire football league... Feel good factor? I feel good. Southport Red
Gainsborough & Glossop in that table, wow! Also interesting to see Leicester Fosse (assume they became City), Clapton, not Leyton Orient and Burslem Port Vale there too

There was only one team in Bristol then too!....NLBR were admitted to the Football League in 1920....Where upon they became Bristol Rovers....So its good to see they have maintained their traditions and gone back to NLBR as they were! Interesting that in most of those 94 years there was never more than a division between us, it is only recently that they have become uttershite, before that I guess they were just shite. But this is about us.... oh go on then, here they were in 1939, saved by the war

I know, I know "Bristol" So this is the season behind Sunderland fans hating both us and Coventry. Taken from: http://www.readytogo.net/smb/threads/coventry.630766/ I'll paint the picture. The year is 1977. Sunderland, Coventry and Bristol City go into the last game of the season battling against relegation. Jimmy Hill was the chairman of Coventry and had his game kick off delayed by 15 minutes because of "crowd congestion." As the second half began at Highfield, we were getting beat by Everton, I think it was, Mr Hill announced our score throughout the second half and as the game wore on had a message sent on the pitch that Sunderland were getting beat 2-0 (iirc) and Coventry and Bristol only needed a point for both to stay up. The end result was farcical with both teams just passing the ball about between each other and not bothering to get into each others box. Sunderland got beat and Coventry and Bristol ended their game 15 minutes later fully aware that they were safe.Sunderland went down and Bristol and Coventry stayed up by cheating. Tom
Refreshing to know that Leicester was a shit hole even back then. Been living there a year now. It's no Bristol, but Clarendon Park/Stoneygate is like a poor man's Clifton. It's actually quite nice.
