Surly it would be easier to have a separate general footy chat page for supporters who really care how bad Man Utd, Liverpool etc are doing & one for supporters who only want to read city related threads ... Of those half are general football threads that could be of interest to anybody at all and the other half may be about other clubs, although these clubs are usually the ones making the headline news in football in general. They certainly don't detract from the forum in general and more than easy to just not read if you really have no interest at all. It's quiet at the moment, we are doing well, it's not matchday or the day after so why not discuss what else is going on in the football world. Quite agree, it would be as crazy as the stewards having to move fans to different stands if they start talking about a subject the stand they are currently in isn't associated with. Obviously, having nothing at one end at the moment would mean the stewards would have to redirect people there who have nothing to say. Problem is anyone there will be redirected to another part of the ground if they did have something to say all of a sudden. This would be bad news for Shedman who does usually have a lot of interesting things to say. He would be escorted off his own roof to occupy the Lower Williams which is the part of the ground where people who say the most interesting things usually gather (and where I coincidentally sit). It would be total chaos. Yet the OP wants to effectively turn this forum's mods into stewards with an unenviable task of redirecting conversations. It's so much easier to do as I do. If someone is spouting about a topic I have no interest in I simply turn a deaf ear. If there's a topic on the forum that fails to excite me I simply don't click on it. This saves the stewards at the ground and the mods on the forum a heck of a lot of time and frees them up to concentrate on more important matters.
