cityexile
Just got bored and worked these out just out of interest. In the last six games we have won three, drawn three. We have won on aggregate 15-11. This compares to the first eight games, which we won 15-4. In these six games, we have been level (including the start) 14 times. 3 times it has finished like that. Of the other 11 times, we have scored next to take the lead an impressive ten times, only conceeding next once. Of the times when we are one goal up, we have scored next 3 times, the other side scoring next 7 times, when there has been another goal. When two up, if there are further goals, we have conceeded the next one, twice. Overall, we have therefore conceeded three times as many goals as we have scored when ahead. We have scored ten times as many as the other lot when level. It is an odd one to me, as I would have thought that the difficult bit for us would be getting the intial break through, and when achieved we would be ideally set up to catch teams on the break. In short, I would expect us to outscore the opposition a little, from a position when we are ahead. It is only six games, but does seem to be emerging in to a pattern? Maybe its as simple as the players always believing its level!
Kermit the Frog
I think it is probably due to a few players getting tired, such as the wing backs who run themselves into the ground every game, and the older lads Wade and Wilbs. Hopefully a bit of squad rotation will fix this as otherwise injuries will occur and we won't have a choice!

Maybe later on in a game, but the stats (on a small sample) are that we are at our most dangerous when the scores are level, and can reenergise ourselves when we allow the others back in. Kermit the Frog
I see what you mean, but a few (especially last night) looked a bit off it IMO. Perhaps a touch of complacency? Who knows :/

Who knows :/ No definitely not complacency. It takes a lot of mental strength from all the squad to keep on winning. But we should also remember that opposing managers may have worked out what our weak spots are and are using that data to make it continually more difficult for us to continue the unbeaten run. It is now up to the management and players to keep us one step ahead!
Gert Mare
We get squeaky bums when we are in the lead with 25 minutes to go.
Robbored
It's all down to Cotterills very astute signings, well managed by him. All have proved to be successful. Can't say that about many previous City managers.

Can't say that about many previous City managers. All apart from El-Abd and possibly Barnett (on loan) other than that excellent. I would mention Keith Burt as well, between the both of them have brought in great signings.

Kid in the Riot
Worked out that we are defensively very average? Yes we are, 10th best defence in the league to be precise... that needs to improve if we want to win automatic promotion. The last half dozen or so games we've shown a bit of a soft underbelly IMO.
