Kid in the Riot
Anyone got any suggestions for a honeymoon around June time next year? Ideally long haul but doesn't have to be. Nice beaches and some interesting culture/history would be good.

Eddie Hitler
I don't know why people don't naturally think of Dudley for their big holidays to remember. Hotels are very reasonable: http://www.tripadvisor.co.uk/Vacation_Packages-g187065-Dudley_West_Midlands_England-Vacations.html And there is plenty to do even if the weather lets you down; which can happen even in June. From the marvelous Dudley Zoo and Castle, described as "a great day out" to The Black Country Living Museum where, as is pointed out, you will need more than a day, or walk along the many canals as you would in Venice but without the smell, heat or mass of tourists. http://www.tripadvisor.co.uk/Attractions-g187065-Activities-Dudley_West_Midlands_England.html Why go anywhere else? Kid in the Riot
Budget? Enough to go long haul. Carribean islands like Grenada, Martinique already on the short list. Got 3 weeks so would ideally like to visit 2/3 places if possible...

Got 3 weeks so would ideally like to visit 2/3 places if possible... Just got back from two weeks in West coast usa. Started in Vegas for 3 nights, drove across death valley and yosemite, stopping for 1 night in each. 4 nights in San Francisco and then down highway 1 to LA and San Diego. Would highly recommend West coast usa and three weeks will allow you a bit more chill time than we managed. Then again, our a actual honeymoon was Ireland - Cork and Kerry. Not exactly hot there but great nonetheless. Good luck in whatever you decide....

Gazred
Did Malaysia and Japan for ours. Japan was great for the sights, culture and history. Can recommend a nice spot in Malaysia, if you want to get away from it all in a tropical paradise kind of thing and at a reasonable price too. chipdawg
We went Vietnam and Cambodia earlier this years, used a great tour company called Selective Asia, but you can easily book the same trip yourself if you can be bothered. Amazing food, dirt cheap when you get there and the sights and sounds are another world. Plus, there are some stunning beaches, islands, etc. in both countries if you want some R&R

Got 3 weeks so would ideally like to visit 2/3 places if possible... After many years of denying myself a holiday while I got the consultancy off the ground the last two years I've treated Mrs R to a couple of exotic hols. We went to Bora Bora in French Polynesia last year. Amazing place. Pure white sand, deep blue seas with coral reef fish swimming about and incredible sunsets. Bit of a faff to get to, but very much a honeymoon destination. French Polynesian food is "incroyable!" a great mix of the French and the Polynesian, with the emphasis on fresh seafood which Mrs Robbo loves. This year we went to an island called Bom Bom, which is off the coast of West Africa in the former Portuguese colony of Sao Tome e Principe. Usually I don't do Africa as I'm an insect magnet, but the warm sea breeze here kept the place mozzie free and it was incredibly beautiful. Again a bit of a faff to get to, with changes at Lisbon and Sao Tome, but if you like swimming in the sea, which I do, this was the warmest seas I've ever taken a dip in. Neither was cheap, but I can PM you the links if you're interested. This year, we did

EmersonsKev
My wife and I took a dual stay in Sri Lanka and the Maldives. So ok, Maldives is beach side paradise, though the experience of culture and hospitality of Sri Lankans was amazing and has left an indelible mark on mine and my wife's lives. Big Red Rich
Congrats Will. We did Cuba, absolutely amazing but wouldn't trust the food out of the resort. Fine for us, we just spent most days in the pool bar as it was too hot to get out!! Did do a day in Havana & a couple of amazing excursions tho and would love to go again. Where are you tieing the knot?!
The Fat Controller
We did a twin centre - 5 Nights in New York and 9 Nights in St Lucia. Great sightseeing followed by sunshine and alcohol. A lot of people we met did day trips to Martinique and said it was great.
RedM
I've never been on this type of holiday, long haul, all inclusive etc, so forgive me I'm not being rude...but why do many people travel thousands of miles to eat and drink by a pool all day and not see anything of the country they are visiting except for from and to the airport? If it's just a bit of sunshine people are after then they could probably get 4 or 5 to Spain etc for the same price?

Guest
Did; Vegas 3nights; Fiji 7nights, Sydney 7nights,Singapore 3nights, then Hong Kong 5nights; natives in Fiji are were super friendly, beaches are unbeatable and sea crystal clear; Sydney beaches are renowned and many things to see and do; Singapore, has nice beaches on an island reachable by cable car or ferry, markets well you can get anything there and the Singapore slings at raffles is a must, but not to many as if it wasn't for a taxi driver we would never have found our hotel, spotlessly clean big fines for littering etc; Hong Kong worth a stop over but manic wouldn't go there again. Went with Thomas Cook, go see them, tell them your preferences and they will sort everything. We stayed in top hotels and spent loads of our inheritance windfall but hey you only live once and you cant take it with you

My missus spent half the week with the shits from a dodgy meal in a local restaurant and I got pissed on the local rum (nicknamed 'Dominican Gasoline') and threw up all over our room. It was very romantic.
