The Casual Connoisseur
An honest view. I'm not quite sure if I've just seen us play badly or our opposition play well. Hats of to Barnsley they threatened our goal more than any other team this season and if I'm honest, they deserved all 3 points. We didn't click today, not in any department. And if it wasn't for an excellent clearance from Flint, 2 great saves from Franke and the wood work we would have come home empty handed. On a plus side, we never gave up and battled for a point, JET for me was the difference, Barnsley didn't know how to cope with him and he nearly created a great goal after beating several players. Overall an off day at the office with a bittersweet day for Ayling whom I thought was poor, yet took his goal well. We're still unbeaten, were still top of the league, so little to worry about, however I'd be naive if I didn't recognise the warning signs, they were flashing brighter than ever. A decent point, that we arguably didn't deserve. I'll take that any day of the week.
BA12RED
Went and agree with the majority of this mate. Was impressed with Ayling particularly in he first half , had Devante Cole in his pocket and that's no mean feat!

Was impressed with Ayling particularly in he first half , had Devante Cole in his pocket and that's no mean feat! Needless lunge for the penalty, gave the ball away repeatedly and kept getting drawn inside leaving huge space to exploit. I'm a huge fan but think it wasn't his best game, all about opinions mate. BA12RED
The whole of the back line fell apart second half imo. I thought Mark Little had a dire dire game. Jogging back from the half way line still for many of Barnsleys attacks , crossing poor again and personally I would have replaced him with Waggy. Not going to moan as ultimately we got a mostly undeserved point and like you said it's all about opinions and I respect yours.
P'head Red
I was not at the match today, but it certainly seemed like we were the worse of the two teams in the second half. But grabbing a point when we may not have deserved to do so is also a positive. Well done for those who made the trip to Barnsley by the way. Still a point is a point but we need to strengthen in January, no doubt.
054123
Warning signs have been there all year. People keep papering over the cracks with comments like 'we've still got a couple of gears to move through'. I haven't seen them yet. we are flattering to decieve at present. Once Peterborough and Swindon are out of the way we will know who we really are.

BA12RED
I feel like this run has as much been about character building than anything else. The lads are starting to look complacent and hopefully the eventual knockout blow (end of run) will just spur us on! Forever the optimist
alanpayne
I went on the 20man show at 5pm and made similar comments to those in the above posts but later in the programme tweeters and texters threw pelters at me for my comments! I reiterate what I said tonight on the Radio, I don't believe we've looked good enough to sustain a top 2 position for sometime!

Do you expect us to go out and turn over teams every week? We're not Wolves, we don't have Sako to call off the bench, we've done incredibly well to go this long unbeaten. The very rare anomaly aside, it doesn't happen. It's obvious how we have more gears to go through. We beat Coventry at a canter without playing particularly well, and dug deep to get a draw today. In previous years we would have lost, guaranteed.

I thought the same a few weeks ago, now I feel that those gears aren't there or else we'd have applied them when needed. I feel a slight change in tactics is needed, in reality I can't believe how we didn't conceed at least 2 more, I'm overjoyed with a point. Happy to be unbeaten but by know means it is the be all and end all.

Happy to be unbeaten but by know means it is the be all and end all. Well for a start its not that easy, is it. Teams don't just gel, and we certainly haven't got there. What we have, though, is an incredible mental strength throughout the team. We could have lost that 3 or 4-1 today, but we dug in and got a point. Let's be fair, it wasn't pretty when we last went up. There were a lot of 1-goal wins, if anything it was grittier than its been so far.

Alex_BCFC
Ayling had a shocker of a 2nd half. Keeps trying to dribble it out of defence and gets caught. Flint saved him on several occasions. Also gave away a stupid penalty. Nearly all the problems came down that side with him and Little.

Swede
I think we're there to be shot at & rightly so as we're TOP OF THE LEAGUE. So enjoy it. The measure of the Manager now is what to do next as other teams are scouting us and working us out. its no coincidence that the Bradford keeper midweek was doing what the Donny keeper did earlier in the season by immediately throwing the ball wide and long because our wing backs have pushed on so much thus exposing the three at the back to attack. Teams are working us out & if they can live with us then they'll be in with a shout of beating us. The "gears" fans talk about is really what the manager is going to do next. The good thing about league 1 is that we could go out and spend in January and there's not many clubs who could do that in our league. Games will get tight and its intetesting to see that JET's gradually having more of an influence. We must enjoy the ride as along with the weather it will get tougher. Its now that Cotts needs to show his credentials.
