Slack Bladder
I'm really loving this season. All these extra games are just giving me another chance to see the best City side in years. Louis Carey said in the commentary of the Coventry game, that when you're in a winning team you don't want a rest you just want to play every game. So the treble is still on. For now. WTFiGO!?!
It's not an issue of fate. We have a small squad and the more cup games we play, the greater the risk of injury to key players, general fatigue and a knock on effect on our league performances as a result. While I would never go as far as saying we should "throw" a game, the pragmatic approach in the replay may well be to play a second string side. It would be a travesty if we missed out on promotion for the sake of a small but ultimately fruitless cup run. Ultimately it lies in the long term interests of the club to play in a higher division, and that should remain the primary objective without compromise.Well if we're going to go 'pragmatically' we should have started by not finding ourselves in a third round replay. So that's step 1 of the master plan ****ed, isn't it?
Squire Dastardly
Winning is a habit; one which we have acquired recently for the first time in years. Keep it up and let's go as far as we can in all competitions.
