Interesting to hear on BBC RB this morning Cotterill saying JET did not adhere to his summer plan and therefore has been behind ever since and has just caught up.

Following his Twitter he seems one for a party. One day this could be his downfall. Going the same way as our bad boy bunch of the early to mid 00s.

Was done to death over Christmas. He didn't seem fit up until January and we're getting the rewards now.

I believe he's got lots of friends in grime music and clubs from his arsenal days.

Don't think he drinks during the season based on what ice heard. If he goes to parties to socialise but doesn't drink, I'm not bothered.

I know lets get on the back of a player who's on fire at the moment, without his recent contribution we'd be a lot worse off.

How about we try and be positive, maybe get behind every player.

Who's being negative?

Cotterill said he didn't adhere to the summer plan. Baffles me why a player would ignore this in this day and age.

He's teetotal so I don't see him being out late any difference to playing FIFA on a PS4 to the early hours of the morning..

Slightly unfair.  If Cotterill is happy to discuss it now then I see no problem in us doing the same.

thats why he was rightly out of the side and rightly critisied, now he's fully fit he will be an assist and will help us,

but it will go against him if he wants a new contract, whats the point in having a player who is only fit for half a season, glad thats SC's problem and not mine

I'd say that was pretty negative.

"You saying that he's going the same way as our bad boy bunch of the early to mid 00's"

That's just negative speculation, the fact that he's caught up and knuckled down & become a match winner, would suggest the complete opposite.

I think even the untrained eye could have spotted Jet didn't return this season as fit as he finished the last, many don't of course. The diffrence was many made up the lost ground within a couple of weeks. If I remember rightly players like Freeman, who we didn't have last season, and Agard who missed Botswana, took a while but they did show improvement. Jet seemed to not be picked to play as he wasnt fit but also wasnt fit due to not playing. That was the physical side, god knows how he was mentally as he seems to need an arm round him and be adored. So a kick up the backside or a cuddle, Cotterill seems to have the right blend at the moment and Jet has benefited from the misfortune of others too.

So we can't discuss comments that Cotts has made?

Presuming this links to the thread about Cotterill's comments, as the comments came from Cotts its fair enough to discuss them. No one is arguing over JET's performance recently, however pre season was the time that JET needed to get himself match fit so ready for the season, not so that he would be ready for the second half of the season.

He wasn't as fit as the rest earlier in the season; I'm a big fan of what the lad can bring to the team and I could see that.

But now he looks to certainly be fit enough; the fact he ran half the pitch in the 70 minute on Tuesday and wasn't so out of puff that he couldn't get past his defenders, give the keeper the eyes and score an important goal should stand in testament to that fact.

Plus, he's completed two 90 minutes in four days, being a crucial and very active part of two important victories in both cases. SC even made the point of picking him out for praise, something he rarely does, so I think it is safe to say the even if SC is commenting on his fitness before, he's happy with it, and him in general now.

I can imagine he likes a party; he's a 24 year old guy with money in his pockets. But doesn't mean he's a waster; as long as his manager is happy with him, and he causes no problems in the dressing room with it, his free time is exactly that.

And consider this too; he is only 24, and before now has often been bombed out of clubs after not holding down a place before the 18 months we've had him. Perhaps SC and the backroom staff have needed that time to impress on him the importance of peak fitness and focus, and only now (not long after his 24th birthday) the penny has dropped, and he's got a new determination to make something of himself?

We've all see similar transformations in players, some far older than JET, and I've certainly seen many folks outside if football take a good decade longer to sort themselves out in life.

Again; he maybe had a bit too much praise and not enough incentive to work hard as a young player, and his slide to our level is perhaps proof of that.

But you cannot fault the fact he at least was willing to go somewhere he'd get game time, rather than sit out a big contract, and even work hard and wait for a chance when out of the team like he has this season.

He may not be as natural an athlete as some players, and he might have a tendency to come over as 'showy' in his personal life, but there is undoubted magic in his boots at times, and if he can get his legs and head to a place where he can show that on a regular basis, as he seems to be now, then we've easily one if the division's finest (and young) talents on out hands.

I think SC and the backroom team have always known this, and that is why he was never shipped out, and why they've clearly helped him work hard to be the player he's always threatened to be.
