Harry's company, Brecknell Dolmam & Rogers also designed and built City's first set of floodlights. They were pretty poor by modern standards and were fixed to a series of steel poles along the side of the pitch. From memory they were probably only as high as the old Wedlock. During a night match, any really high balls could disappear into the gloom.

 

I remember those. Fortunately, T*ny P**is wasn't in charge at the time.
