oldstandrobin
Reminds me of the time years ago when the hangman and the condemned man took the long walk across the courtyard in pouring rain to the public gallows.' Bloody Rain' moaned the condemned man ' I hate getting soaked.' 'Alright for you mate' replied the hangman, 'I've got to walk back in this'. Harry
I started this and another thread because I needed a break from all that. You can only bang your head so long on a brick wall until it hurts you more than the wall. I have been in a good mood all day thanks to this and playing HMHB in the background as I work in between. And ain't that just the beauty of life. I can't agree with much you've said on the other threads, and would happily place myself within the so called 'Ultra' camp and yet, I too am a huge HMHB fan of over 25 years and more. Isn't it great how folks of different persuasions on one matter can be joined together in another. I don't wanna turn this thread into the others but just wanted to make that point, since you referenced 'Ultra' earlier in the thread. Keep up the good work here. Love The Biscuit. New Dazzler
And there's Deep Water from Seal, guaranteed to put smiles back on the faces:- I'll kiss that away Both of them swam from a northern blue sky Smile on their faces they entered their doom Like they knew if their world should end They won't care about that anyway I jade the water and I burn the fire Nuclear chemicals making their doom Like you knew If the world should end You won't care about that anyway Maybe that's the way you live your life but I know Life, it don't always live that way Jade, a shade of pain and then we die Jade, a shade of pain and then we die Jade, a shade of pain and then we die Maybe that's the way you live your life but I know Life, you see it don't always live that way Jade, a shade of pain and then we die Jade, a shade of pain and then we die, oh why? Jade, a shade of pain and then we die Maybe that's the way But it don't always live that way Now that I understand the beauty of what they left to hand me down When you need a place to live And no one understands you And all you want to do is to cry out loud But you don't know how No way, no one, no one understands The hand that strikes When just a touch of love is all a problem needed And when you hurt someone so much yet still they die loving you And all you want to do is to cry out loud But you don't know how, jade Jade, a shade of pain and then, and then we die Jade, a shade of pain and then, and then we die But you don't know how Until you try some how Like you don't know how But you try somehow And then we die We will find a way Letting the sun go down Maybe we'll find a way Holding the sun We will find a way Letting our life go by I tell you we'll find a way Holding the sun Read more: Seal - Deep Water Lyrics | MetroLyrics

Port Said Red
We would go and see Echo and the Bunny.... Men. HMHB don't have the monopoly on funny lyrics, I have been listening to a lot of Proclaimers stuff since the Sunshine on Leith film reminded me of how good they can be. I particularly like "This is the story of our first teacher, Shetland made her jumpers and the devil made her features" "Let's get married Hold hands when we walk in the park All right you can get a cat just as long as it barks"
