Taylor10
Cunningham was one of our better players in the championship? so not sure where it's come from that he won't be any good if we get promoted. Back to the thread. Hopefully we get another keeper, one that won't just be a number 2 but as good, if not better than Fielding. There was that Bentley lad from Southend we were interested in during the January window, would be a perfect signing imo. Young, very promising and in the England set up. Think we'll need another CB. Get rid of El-Abd, get Osborne back in the mix during pre season and another as back up, the 5 should be ok. Another rb/rwb to compete with Little. 2 CM's one to replace Elliott and another to have as back up. 2 maybe 3 strikers... If Wilbraham isn't offered/retires then we'll only have Agard.... So would like to see Smith come back, another target man (bradshaw?) and someone similar to Agard. Would also offer JET another 2/3 year contract. Cunningham has gone down hill since though unfortunately. He had the same chance as JB did to hold down a regular place at the start of the season but hasn't taken it. Useful squad player yes but Bryan is so far ahead of him it's hard to see how Greg will feature regularly again.
Nogbad the Bad
Not convinced about Matt Smith. It's quite possible he's just had the best purple patch he's ever going to have in his career. He did a great job for sure for City short term in L1, but there's no getting around the fact that, even fully fit, he really is slow. It would be a shame to spoil the memories of the successful loan spell if he came back to City full time, on presumably very high wages, and proved a disappointment in the Championship. We won't be dominating teams or presenting so many chances on a plate in the league above. Maybe better to thank him for what he did and move on to more agile targets. A case of never go back perhaps - though having said all that if Cotts. is persuaded he's the best man to lead our attack in the Championship, fair enough. And Its Smith
Butland loan or permanent or Bentley permanent Liam Moore loan but unlikely as Leicester will be in same league James tavernier permanent Unsure of cm as I think pack, smith and freeman could cut it. Rolando Aaron's or jordan ibe on loan Chris long from everton permanent Matt smith permanent Pacy striker from prem like akpom or Sinclair on loan Amazing. Nearly every single one of those is unrealistic. Silly season has started obviously

Also, a lot of people are looking at L1 for targets. I'd aim higher and first try and get some of the better young talent in the C'ship. Freeman, Agard and Ayling should've really ended up at C'ship clubs and we signed them so aim high!

Fordy62
Jordan ibe won't be a first team regular for a couple of seasons. Not unrealistic if we're in the championship. How ridiculous of me to suggest it though... He was until he got injured last week.
Lew-T
I'd like to see City go for Tom Bradshaw from Walsall. Good young talent who has flourished this season, will only get better IMO.
mozo
Buying from Championship clubs is the most difficult option becuase those players have a certain price and are unlikely yo be deemed surplus to requirements at their current club. Matt Smith would/could be an example of the exception. Much easier to buy Prem youth such a la Leroy Lita, league 1 talent that is ready to step up a la Nicky Maynard, or players from abroad a la Soren Andersen. Major Isewater
I have doubts over Agard as centre forward .i'd like him moved back out onto the wing where he did so well for Rotherham . Bring in three forwards .
Lrrr
Matt Smith is realistic IMO, Fulham have 5 strikers and he'd know he would probably start every week here, wages would be the only issue. Depends how much he wants to play. Bradshaw from Walsall another good option, young so time to improve and is different to what we have. Another CM option to go with Freeman and Smith. A right wing back to compete with Little (although could be argued another CB would mean Ayling could be back up RWB) CB as said above GK to contend with Fielding So 5/6 players
