SARJ
Purely out of interest, has anybody on OTIB dabbled in this stuff? I'm referring more to adult blokes rather than the kids. Just wondered why some, especially grown men, do such things when it comes to Wembley, especially as most supporters find it one of the most embarassing/cringeworthy things to see at football. Admin phantom Posted March 20, 2015 Admin Report Share Posted March 20, 2015 Not for me - but it is a big part of the day out for families etc
zyderiup
Yeah - it's a family thing. I agree the the adults look a bit ridiculous TBH. But, they're enjoying the day out with their kids in their own little way rather than getting shit-faced in a packed pub, which, by the way, is totally what I normally do (getting lashed with my mates) but this year I have a little one to take care of so we'll spend the morning in Hyde park as it's meant to be a nice day. He will not be having one of those ******* horn things though - hate those things
Welcome To The Jungle
I say paint the kids but adults should just wear red (preferably a city top) and nothing else. Bring a flag maybe but the only time you should paint yourself as an adult at football is if you go the whole hog

Rob k
I love Wembley and getting in the spirit of things, it only happens once every couple of years so yes I do like to dye my hair red and have the red and white St George with BCFC painted on my cheeks!! I'm 35 and absolutely love it
Port Said Red
If I see anyone near me in those "half and half scarves" I think I will have to be kept away from the temptation of having a naked flame to use on them. My daughter better hide her lighter....

Port Said Red
Really? I don't see what's wrong with them in a one off day out? so if (ok big IF) this was against the Gas, you would be happy to where one of those things?
Betty Swallocks
Really? I don't see what's wrong with them in a one off day out? They're hideous to start with. Then there's the fact they are usually sold by some dodgy Big Vern type geeeezaa. Why would I want a scarf with Walsall on it?
Rob k
so if (ok big IF) this was against the Gas, you would be happy to where one of those things? Yes I would get one

Betty Swallocks
ok, fair enough.......... each to their own, but watch out for me and my matches You and several thousand more. A match for for a half and half City & sags scarf wouldn't suffice. A flamethrower would be more apt!

Club and Country
I hate it and think its so cringeworthy, however if I was going with my young son (if I had one!) would probably get involved in it if it made him happy
Red-Robbo
I'm in the office just before the game. But I'll take off my facepaint and jester's hat before I get to Wembley.
'Orns
Who is going as the big hands then? hands.jpg Just seeing that white hirerite shirt in the bottom right hand corner has made my day, thank you Cider Head Are they available to buy anywhere, does anyone know? As for face painting, it's as cringeworthy as being the grown man filmed crying after losing a big game, tuck your blouse in poppet. Everyone is still breating, we're good. Unless you are under the age of 12 I'd make it illegal
Phileas Fogg
I think it's awful, only acceptable for kids. I remember yeovil turning up to AG for a league game in our promotion season; bizarrely lots of their fans had wigs and face paint on. Also, at what age is it unacceptable to wear a replica shirt? WiltsRed
Surely a half and half scarf for Sunday would just be red and white all the way? No probs

Not a dig just curious.. why is that perceived as unacceptable by some? Obviously we don't see any blokes wearing hats etc. but so many wear shirts...
