TRL
And the great chant of "We only win we've Singh in" Went nowhere and hung up his boots at 28. First game played on the left... In his correct position had a good game. Then switched to the right in the next few games and did not perform. May not have done well in general. But imo piss poor management led to his downfall at city
BobBobSuperBob
Jason Roberts Saw his debut at Oldham where he got a crucial winner and ran Oldham ragged (brought in after we sold the Goat) - shame Wardy got the hump with him over International call up Only played once or twice more (off the bench ?) Could have been our player - shame
Major Isewater
Was Peter Cormack a loan or permanent signing? Wonderful player for us, whatever. Loans were rare in the past ,they just were n't needed .There was no transfer window to worry about and the players were "owned" by a club. If you needed a new player you tapped up his club chair man and hey presto ! a new addition to the team was annonced in the Press. Sweet as ... Nagy Mahal
Gotta be M Smith for me. We would have to play 4-5-1 with JET up front for some really important games including semi-final v Gillingham
cidered abroad
Joe Royle did alright .....on loan.....! Didn't go quite so well after And Andy Cole kept us up almost single handed during his loan spell Ian Leigh however ....... remember him !!! Ian Leigh came on loan from Bournemouth ? City made him stand by the garbage bin in the hope that the bin men would take him away!
cidered abroad
Because he was one of the first loan signings, I can remember, a central defender with no pace and a turning circle bigger than Ark Royal, Brian Hill from Coventry circa 1968/9. Looked awful but helped us to escape the annual relegation battle which marked AD's early days.
