22A Posted November 22, 2003 Report Share Posted November 22, 2003 B'pool won 1-0 at P'boro' today and as they are City's next oppos, I thought this might be of interest. Blackpool have a very tall central defender. For most of the game, the Posh defence hit a high ball down field for their forwards to latch onto. This defender dealt with every ball for fun. Late in the game, Barry Fry changed tactics and had the wing backs move forward much more with the ball and then cross it like traditional wingers. That caused B'pool problems, but the Posh forwards weren't good enough to latch onto many of these crosses. When they did, everyone admitted, the B'pool goalie had "the game of his life". Since he can't expect to have the game of his life for consecutive weeks and with City having better tactics than Posh, here's looking forward to another win next week.
