Lets be honest we got Wilbs, he wanted football so came here. Common sense says that if Bent is available he would have better suitors. It is all unlikely but hey, we can dream! simon uk Posted May 9, 2015 Report Share Posted May 9, 2015 Darren bent is a premier league striker, we could never afford him, and arguably we shouldn't try to, but he is at a level above anything else we have seen at ashtogate for a long time. Im pretty sure that when he first signed for spurs that his contract made him in either the top 10 or top 20 highest paid footballers in the world at that point, I clearly remember listening or seeing a report it, I believe it was supposed to be 80k net per week at that time.
