Liverpool Players Drunk After 6-1 Loss

And Its Smith

Recommended Posts

FIFA reelect one of the biggest crooks in the game as their leader, and people are moaning about the post-season antics (and pretty harmless stuff at that) of a few players; brilliant.

Liverpool fans might be annoyed, as they expected more from their team across the season, but personally if I was in their shoes if be far more pissed at what a pathetic showings their manager made of things, not concerned that some of their players went to let off steam.

Bringing the club into disrepute? They sang an inoffensive song & performed a harmless dance. Far bigger crimes exist every day in football. Time to get some perspective.

Of course you're bringing the club into disrepute if you act like you don't give a damn about a 6 - 1 defeat.  I remember when City players went out on the razz during our relegation season.  This forum utterly exploded.  If you're a professional football whose team hammered, you have to at least look like you care.

This would have been a story if they had been seen getting drunk the night before losing 6-1.

Early 70s WHU lost a cup game at Blackpool and several fans claimed to have seen several players, including Bobby Moore, in a night club at 2.00am.

So why haven't Liverpool fined them wages for bringing the club into disrepute then? Seeing as that was the last game of the season when are they allowed to have their end of season p1$$ up bearing in mind it was probably arranged weeks or months ago and some of the players will no longer be at the club in July? Or do they have to wait until the night of their next victory?

Are you deliberately missing the point?

No problem with them going out on the piss. BUT, keep it low key, and don't 'go viral' with a whole stupid team dance, 24 hours after losing 6-1 to Stoke! 6-1!!! It's not as if they lost 1-0 or even 2-0. Did you see their defending? Did you see the effort?

they are professional footballers earning millions and with that comes responsabilities. Have your night out but watch how you act.

This forum is full of hypocrites. If this was City players the attitude would be very different indeed.

The forum would be full of hypocrites if that last sentence was what had happened. As it happens most people are equating this to a bad day at work and letting off steam the day after once on annual leave as many of us might do.

We'll just have to agree to disagree.

The point you seem to be missing is that it is immature in the extreme for GROWN ADULTS to be FURIOUS/ LIVID/APOPLECTIC WITH RAGE etc. that a group of young men should be allowed to celebrate their end of season on the basis they have just been on the wrong end of a terrible result. As a fan you should know the deal - some weeks you get good results, some you don't. There are always two teams out there trying to get a result.

As long as the players abide by the professional rules of the club and are not seen BY THE CLUB to be bringing it into disrepute then the views of a few immature adults who cannot stomach the fact their team got destroyed, and automatically equate that to lack of effort presumably because they haven't played football themselves and are blissfully unaware that occasionally you can actually try your hardest and play very badly at the same time, are irrelevant.

Money is a complete and utter red herring in all of this and people who bring that up in every post clearly resent the money these boys earn and use it as a stick to beat them with (they are overpaid in the grand scheme of things but that isn't their fault and living like a buddhist monk in return for the wages is not written into their contracts).

You are correct in that there are hypocrites on these forums but if exactly the same had happened to City I wouldn't give a monkeys about the players celebrating their end of season. I would also say this forum is full of perfectly behaved and morally upstanding individuals who have never done anything wrong, always give 10000% at work and everything they do, have perfect relationships with everyone they meet and are therefore clearly able to cast the first stone!!

Good post. Perhaps the Leicester players' antics help to provide a bit of perspective too.

It just shows a disrespect to the fans. That's the crux of it for me.
