If they spin us to victory then they'll surely be given Somerset knighthoods and keys to Taunton. We could have easily got 400 without that monumental collapse but I'd have happily taken those points yesterday morning.

Both in my view, especially after our batting effort against Warwickshire.

Super
Don't really want Yorks getting max bowling points.
Calculus
Middlesex looking like they're only getting 2 batting points. If Somerset do manage a win then a draw won't be enough for Middlesex. Someone's going to have to start taking risks at Lords...

However Somerset need to start taking wickets.. Unless Yorkshire get 350 plus and win don't think Somerset even need max bowling points do they? Agreed though, they need to get on with it. Will be a bit ironic if Somerset beat Yorkshire at Headingley and then fail to beat Notts.
Dogbert
I notice there were only 27 overs bowled in the morning session at Lords. No urgency there apparently.
Calculus
3 minutes ago, Tomarse said: Middlesex were actually trying to deny Yorks the batting point. Bizzare when Middlesex may have to win whatever. May mean less likelihood of a contrived finish there. Need couple of early wickets after lunch Depending on how things go in the next day would fully expect a contrived finished at Lords. First thing is for Yorkshire to get to 350 (or less if Somerset don't get the 3 bowling points).
Admin phantom Posted September 21, 2016 Admin Report Share Posted September 21, 2016 Yorkshire know if they make 350 within 110 overs in their first innings and beat Middlesex - it will hand them their third Championship title in a row. Calculus
10 minutes ago, Tomarse said: If Yorks have nothing to play for what's in it for them? 2nd place finish maybe financially Oh, agree. Assuming Somerset get the 3 bowling points Yorkshire could easily declare at 350 and look to Middlesex to offer a target. Oddly, unless Middlesex can knock over Yorkshire quickly today it's probably in their best interest to let them get to 350 asap. Don't quite get what's going on at Lords so far - they seem to have forgotten about Somerset.
