Lrrr
Curran's place surely not under threat? Interesting piece today comparing him to others. Also backs up a bit that I think we should be looking at an alternative to Ali.

That's the difference and why we are preparing so many flat tracks, we can't be beaten consistently on them. A bit boring.

PHILINFRANCE
I really did think that, given it was 'only' Warwickshire, then, green pitch or not (whereby the toss would not be contested and we would be asked to bat), this was our chance to score heavily in the first innings and gain maximum batting points, Tres would get the chance to play himself into form and, following a comfortable innings victory, everybody could relax ready for Saturday at Lords. All is not yet lost, even though we are now 5 down for just 90, the match has started awfully, the only consolation being that Surrey are struggling agains Kent - 74/5. I'm not sure - we are going at over 5 an over, and both Steve Davise and COVE are competent batsmen. I don't know whether you have been watching the live stream, but the bowling really isn't that threatening.

I must say, if we don't win this match, even with a reduced bonus points tally, I think our chances of a first ever Championship will be pretty slim. Take the Metropolitan line from Ruislip to Baker Street, it's about a 20 minute slow walk from there, or you can change there onto the Jubilee line and go one stop to St John's Wood which is less than 10 minutes slow walk to Lords

We also played some awful shots on the way. It’ll flatten out today which *may* just give us an advantage if we finish them off pronto Brian Rose reckons the pitch should flatten out this afternoon - just in time for Somerset to get the last three Warwickshire wickets and be 5 or 6 down themselves by 15H00 . Admin phantom Posted May 21, 2019 Admin Report Share Posted May 21, 2019 Another bonus this morning. . . Following his selection for England's World Cup squad, Hampshire spinner Liam Dawson will play no further part in the Division One match with Nottinghamshire and has been replaced by Mason Crane. Dawson, along with county colleague James Vince, will also miss Saturday's One-Day Cup final against Somerset as England have a warm-up match against Australia. Dawson had yet to bowl in the game at Newclose on the Isle of Wight, but scored 25 in Hampshire's 288-5.

I suspect Markram (South Africa) may also be forbidden from playing - if so, it rather diminishes the match. Another maiden for Leach, by the way. PHILINFRANCE
All Out. We were looking at Leach's figures, which started off quite amazingly, but COVE's were pretty immpresive as well - 5/31 off 16 overs with 8 maidens.
