Curr Avon
BRISTOL CITY: Sheffield Wednesday eyeing loan move for Robins summer transfer target Jesse LingardSHEFFIELD Wednesday are reportedly on the hunt to sign Jesse Lingard on loan from Manchester United. The 22-year-old was subject to interest from Bristol City in the summer with the Sun claiming the Robins were preparing a £2.5million bid for the winger. However, the move never materialised and Lingard - who was also linked with a switch to Newcastle United - ended up staying at Old Trafford. Now Wednesday, who City lost to on the opening day of the season, are ready to make a move for the player according to the Daily Star.Lingard netted in last Monday's Under-21 win over Everton and the match was watched by Wednesday scout Glenn Roeder. The Yorkshire club are currently 11th in the Championship after nine games.Read more: http://www.bristolpost.co.uk/BRISTOL-CITY-Sheffield-Wednesday-eyeing-loan/story-27881467-detail/story.html#ixzz3n2AHdOuq
samo II
We should put a bid in... I'm sure he'd jump at the chance to join us in our current league position. Well, depends; Wednesday have 10 first team midfielders already, five of whom they only signed this year but are all playing.Being we've at the point of playing our left wing back in central midfield, and have literally zero fit cover in that area outside of Bobby Reid, now that Wagstaff is injured, Lingard would walk not just into our squad, but likely starting eleven. But agree; blown our own foot off with our start in terms of looking attractive to potential recruits. Lanterne Rouge
May have dodged a bullet there if he was only supposed to be coming on loan. They`d recall him now for sure.
Major Isewater
May have dodged a bullet there if he was only supposed to be coming on loan. They`d recall him now for sure.I believe it was meant to be a permanent transfer but two deals in the chain did n't materialise so Muff would n't let him go .
