Lovely goal as well.

With him and Kane England could well surprise a few in the summer

The impressive thing about Leicester is their hurrying of the opposition and their desire to win the ball back

You`ve got to be pleased for all the Leicester fans who`ve followed them through thin and thinner over the years. Living the dream. Could be us one day:city:

As much as I agree re the diehard fans, LCFC have never endeared themselves to me. Last time I went up, a two nil loss I believe on a day they should have had about six (Nugent should have had a hat trick), the atmosphere was woeful and the ground half full. For a team going for the playoffs at that time it was shameful. I notice they have some form of fans/clappers to make more noise and fabricate some atmosphere. Fans were less than friendly after the game, very few willing to help me and my mate find a chippy.

Got to respect the job the team on the pitch are doing, hard not to like Ranieri as well!

I posted that too recently! We pat ourselves on the back for the JK signing, and rightly so, but Mahrez was bought from the same division, level 2 in France...

It defies logic that he was in the second tier, he looks world class for Leicester at moment and despite Vardy getting the headlines it's Mahrez who's been equally good all season.

Leicester really have a decision to make in Jan - gamble for CL glory or not?

They'll never have a better chance. They should go for it but should also bear in mind what happened to Leeds, they threw the kitchen sink at it and got to the champions league semi final, but at an awful long term cost...

Nine points off fifth now. That feels a significant lead, and something defendable. Outside of Man City and Arsenal over the rest of the season, really cannot see who they should fear.

Mind you, will most likely finish 4th, and get bumped from the Champions league through Chelsea winning it!

The other thing that strikes me is they look a very close knit group of players, playing as a team. Bringing in a couple of stars might ruffle the spirit. It's such a difficult call..

Or Leicester 4th and England lose their 4th spot due to poor European performances. Really do need Chelsea to get past PSG and hopefully Man City to get through as well. Would feel bad for Leicester if the above did happen.

Exactly this....defending high up and harassing...none of this sitting back and soaking up the pressure mullarky.

Wouldn't imagine that would happen as quickly as next season. 3 out of 4 went through, that's probably more than enough.

Pretty sure it happens with immediate effect, read a load of articles about English teams needing to perform this season as its done on a 5 year cycle or something.

Champions League - 3 English (Arsenal v Barca, Chelsea v PSG, City v Dynamo Kiev), 2 Italian (Roma v Real Madrid, Juventus vs Bayern Munich)

Pretty sure Europa League counts too - 3 English (United, Liverpool and Spurs v Fiorentina)  Italian - Fiorentina (vs Spurs), Napoli (vs Villareal) and Lazio (vs Galatasaray)

So 6 English teams in Europe vs 5 Italian teams, you'd think 1 English team would make it through the CL where as both Italian teams could feasibly be looking at going out. Europa League, will Utd and Liverpool be as bothered with EL if they're both pushing for top 4? Will they need to save players for more important games? Fiorentina knocking out Spurs could quickly even things up as well. Italy were very close to the English points total for the last team to get 4 spaces.

Mahrez for £600k, how did we miss him when looking at Kodjia! Has to be one of bargains of recent PL history

fairly sure it was 400k. What a bargain probably player of the season so far for me.

Managed to get 25/1 for them to win the league last night. With the others in the top 3 all having European football to contend with, both manc clubs not setting the world alight, and arsenal as inconsistent as ever. I thought it was worth a punt. It's only gonna go down if they keep this up.

They're ins terrific run, but it will be interesting to see how they cope with a defeat.

I can't remember exactly what it was, but Ed Chamberlain on mnf said last night that you could have had odds of 2.3 million to one for Leicester to win the league and vardy to finish top scorer on a double. (May need clarification, but I'm pretty certain that's what he said)

Hope to see them actually go on and win, or at least cement a Champions League spot.

If they can keep the top players next month and stay lucky with injuries they will finish top 4, the danger is Vardy and Mahrez getting injured and having to rely on Ulloa who really isn't that good.

....... that last Vardy volley was pure class from a striker in the form of his life.

Typically bad luck for City though - with the January window coming up, I doubt if we could afford him now.

:badmood:

I think he would give our attack a new dimension.

I suspect that I have seen more ligue 2 French football than most on here and to be honest only French ligue 1 sides generally buy from the lower French ligues and most ligue 1 sides will sell on very quickly at huge fees, neither of these players barely registered on the radar of most ligue 1 clubs, so I would say it is to the credit of the club that we scouted Kodjia a player that most ligue 1 clubs appeared to have no interest in at all especially at the price that we paid, even smaller ligue 1 clubs have paid at least this size fee and up to 8 million euros for similar talent from lower ligue clubs.

What it will do obviously is make more clubs aware of the odd talented players in French ligue 2.

So I would say be very happy that we seem to have unearthed a real gem at a good price and fair play to Leicester who appear to have unearthed a similar gem, who like Kodjia was not on the radar of the bigger French clubs.
