I think we are misunderstanding the nature of business here.  Many companies have their website run out of house.  If their site is delivering pornography to customers then they demand the supplier deals with it.

There is no excuse.  None whatsoever.

Given the nature if the problem, a shrug of the slopey shoulders won't suffice.

It is fundamental to any business that they know their websites are secure.  Why else would customers use them if they are felt to be compromised.  If a relaxed attitude from the business in question prevails then I cannot see the logic sharing personal or credit card details with them.  Can you?

This happens all too often.  My own daughter's secondary school has (possibly now had) an insecure website used by pupils.  I pointed this out and - for the life of me - I couldn't get them to understand the severity of the situation.  I could access (rather, I was presented with) the details of every child there and personal data wasn't encrypted upon delivery - I'm sure someone with wrong intentions could have gone further and accessed things they shouldn't have access to.  Since then I have asked that my children be removed from their online systems as the school (like so many businesses) really don't care to understand what they are dealing with.  They even asked me "what should we do?"

Oh, and that school website is used by hundreds (probably thousands) of schools.  Lip service.

Unfortunately I have some sympathy for Adam & the club in that they are bound into a 72 club deal that would have fairly large reprocusions should they try to exit it early as I understand.  The whole website deal has been shocking.. I mean the PTV sites of old were pretty bad but usable and when this new deal came in it was hoped it would be vastly improved using a much better CMS system. However the global templates and look of them give it a look more acustomed to the 1990s.  There is no excuse for the provider to be using poor ad servers an so forth.  Once maybe as a mistake but not multiple occasions.   The clubs need to all take a stand and demand something happens in my view.

Seems to be differing reports on when the deal ends.. be it this season or next. Hopefully then they might join the rest of the BS empire who are hosted at our data centre in newport and you can shout at me should any nasties occur (joke)

Personally I really like the look and feel of the Bristol Sport site and hope we can move over to something similar once this rubbish deal has ended.

I would imagine that would be the plan. It's a centralised system where publishing articles can be done to multiple sites at once. However it maybe the FL get a better global deal when its up for re tendering etc.
