What a @%&@. His comment on the equaliser being in the 5th of 4 added minutes? "Don't give away a free kick." Like he never did that in his playing days? No credit for our performance against all odds, coming back from a goal down etc., nor the support. Cheers Lorro.

Why should he support us?

Is there anything we are not blaming Cotts for at present?

lawrenson is a grade A bell rash

I'm not usually on his case, and I know he made positive comments about fans and team, but he always moans about something.  Why give the media such a bitter sound bite.

Lawro did just make a bit of a penis of himself though!

Not criticising the team today, but broadly speaking Lawrenson is right. The manager is paid to influence what the team does on the pitch; when the referee blows his whistle is up to the referee and nothing to do with the manager. A referee can legitimately add further time if something has disrupted play after the board's gone up. It's the same for both teams and if we'd scored a third during the fifth added minute no one would have complained. Just play to the whistle and concentrate on defending the set piece.

As for MOTD not saying much about us, they have to work their way through dozens of games and get to say about 20 seconds worth on each game, if they say anything at all! There will be hundreds of untold stories at every game.

I like Lawro. He's one of the few witty ex-footballers MOTD bring in. Sure, we probably deserved a bit more credit, but he wasn't wrong - 95th minute free kicks shouldn't be given away if you can help it.

Anyone remember what the free kick was for?

No he doesn't, he missed the point entirely. IF the 90 minutes were up, he should have blown the whistle. Whether or not a free kick was given away is irrelevant.

It's a minimum of four minutes. Amazing how many players/fans fail to grasp this. When there's a few seconds to go, don't give away a free kick in a good position when you don't need to. He didn't miss any point, Lawro was spot on.

He does. The free kick was conceded with 93:45 on the clock. Had the free kick not been conceded the ref would probably have blown up 15 seconds later. But once a free kick is given, refs tend to let that next passage of play culminate.

He has a valid point though

Maybe, but the award of the free kick itself has been described as soft in it's self, so it's easy for Lawrenson too make such a remark, without being in possession of all of the facts, the decision wasn't shown in the highlights, but hey we're not a prem team so nobody will care anyway.
