Probably best if I keep to rugby if it seems I'm chatting shit. :') Selling Cunningham, Poor Player recruitment, inflexible tactics, non use of subs, an inability to see the problems that are staring him straight in the face, trying to recruit strikers when the defense and midfield has more holes than a rusty colander, 4 wins in 27 games. That's why people want him out. The draw at West Brom was the worst thing that could happen - everyone saw it as a turning of the corner and SC as the new messiah. it was a one off half decent performance that covered some cracks. League one is his level as witnessed last year. I said a few weeks ago that nothing in his past has indicated he will be a success in the Championship, I have seen nothing recently to change that opinion. Thanks for last year, but time to go. I think its best for all concerned.

Even allowing for the summer renegotiation screw up, that only explains two failures. Cotterill is shooting for the moon and blowing up our house. You live on the moon ? What are you a Clanger ? The point would be that he's completely failing to hit the moon. But yes, I can see an argument for more whistles.

HitchinRed
If we can't attract any decent players, what makes anyone think we could attract a decent manager? I agree that things are getting dire, but my mantra has always been not to get rid of a manager until you know you can get someone better. Why would anyone better take the job right now? He only wants players to fit into our system, which reduces the amount we can choose from. He is so frightened of 'losing face', he won't change his ideas/targets. ashton_fan
Despite us chasing mainly strikers in the window our main problem is we're letting in two goals (at least) in most games. We generally only win games if we keep a clean sheet (apart from Huddersfield), if we concede 1 we mainly get a draw, if we concede 2 we get an occasional draw, if we concede 3 or more we always lose. Last night Preston's players were not better than ours man-for-man but they were better organised at the back and had a game plan which has proved successful. We could easily make some basic changes, eg why don't we have a man on the post at corners like all the other teams do, it would have saved quite a few of the goals against like the second yesterday. Also, why do our opponents always end up with players unmarked in the box (again like the 2nd goal yesterday and the late goal at WBA), are we using some sort of zonal system rather than man-to-man? When we're in front we can't kill the game like other sides, we might need to time-waste more, take the ball to the corner and feign injury if required like other sides do to us. In the Charlton game we had a late attack where our player could have gone into the corner but we tried to score a second, they then went up the other end and equalised. Maybe Cotts needs a specialist defensive coach, at Forest he brought in So'D for that task, it could bring about change without a complete change of direction. Niave buffoons. But look where Mcinnes is now. He's been Manager of Month at least 5 times in the last couple of years and Aberdeen will give Celtic a good run for their money to be champions this season. We can't keep blaming managers - the board haven't got what it takes to build a club capable of competing at this level.
