BUTOR
His child was born at 5:37 this morning, he hasn't slept for the last three days and he goes and gives a tireless, CAPTAINS performance like that. Very few players would be able to achieve the same. A massive congratulations to Korey.
HoldenBall
We need to somehow tie this lad to a longer contract. He is pure class

Nibor
He was great today, really strong performance even by his already high standards. He'll need a game off soon because even though adrenaline works wonders the comedown is hard.
Claverham_Red
MOM for me. Captain fantastic. Took a heavy blow early on, most would have gone off but he battled on like a true leader. Brilliant fight and desire. Congrats Korey on the birth of your little one.
Alex_BCFC
MOTM for me but unfortunately you have to share it around a bit every now and again! Most consistent performer this season by some distance.

I've just been on 606 and told Chappers and Robbie Savage that Korey Smith was one of the best midfield players in the Championship, small, but beautifully formed. Guest
Didn't give Downing a sniff all game. Really looks good in front of back four in what was a sort of 4-1-4-1 formation second half

Up The City!
Any new parent will testify that for the first few days you really are on a high and despite the lack of sleep that high keeps you going. In fact sometimes that high prevents you from sleeping rather than the actual baby. It's the come down from that high that is tougher than the initial few days. For a footballer the most important thing is having good sleep and eating healthily. I remember once watching an interview with a player who had recently had a baby and to ensure he stayed in top condition the mother and baby had to sleep in a different room to not interrupt his sleep nor affect his performances. Those are the sort of sacrifices footballers have to make.

deadredfred
He was absolutely outstanding today. Best player on the pitch for me, by some distance. Offside
Korey Smith has been absolutely superb ever since he joined us: a committed and skilful player with a fantastic attitude on the pitch, and consistent too. Congratulations to him on becoming a dad.
Phileas Fogg
Not sure how you can have your partner give birth and then be able to switch go game-mode mentally so quickly. That shouldn't be underestimated, quite often players would miss a game; good job he didn't, we'd of missed him.
