Highlights have just been uploaded, great flick by Wes but just noticed amongst all the carnage in the crowd as it goes in, the corner of which the ball goes in there are a couple of people in the Atyeo, a girl with white hat pink jacket and the bloke next to her who aren't enjoying it quite as much, I've been at away grounds in the home end as an away fan, and that is just an awful moment when all around you are going ape shit and you just got to stand there and not looked completely pissed off.

Years ago, a mate of mine worked for Greenwich Council and would get compo tickets to Charlton games. We went to Charlton v Chelsea. Sitting among other compo ticket holders it was quite quiet until Chelses scored when one bloke a few rows in front of me jumped up and went mental. The closest group of Charlton fans were not pleased about this and were politely trying to tell him to 'calm down old sport' when the stewards managed to rescue him and escort him to safety.

I remember being in the Arkle Stand at Swindon amongst the home mob and Aaron Brown equalized  trying not to celebrate, hard not to but i did!!!

I had similar experience at Swindle. Only time I saw us win there I was in the Arkle Stand. Applauded our goals as 'politely' as I could get away with.

My brother is disabled and lives in Ipswich. No trouble getting him into the Portman Road wheelchair enclosure, but I was advised to remove my red & white hat & scarf. I still leapt up and cheered when City scored, but my brother urged me to calm down as away fans in a home area was not to be encouraged. I found that strange in this age of inclusion.

The Cup game at Pompey in the early 70s. There had been terrace trouble throughout the game and towards the final whistle a small knot of us were near their end, totally surrounded by home fans. The word went round "If we score, don't cheer". Last kick of the game City equalised and I leapt up "Yeeesss"! and immediately had a hand clapped over my mouth. Had a similar experience at Ninniant oo.

Twice at Trumpton I had to mix with the unwashed hordes:  in the seats for the 4-0 Allison defeat and stood on the paddock for a 3-2 defeat (Bent scored late on.)  Would have been fairly evident to all but Stevie Wonder I was not a home supporter.

My late deluded gas-head dad takes the biscuit though:  he and I got tickets from a friend for Millwall v Liverpool at the old Den:  we were stood on the home terrace and he thought it appropriate to cheer both Liverpool goals.  I simply edged away and was prepared to disown him if things went pear-shaped.

First game away at Swindle after we went up in 90, they put the city fans in the newly seated Town End, about 1400 tickets I think. We drove up to Swindon and bought home tickets mid week for the Stratton Bank. On the day we kept our heads down, when Junior slotted one in we started to shake our heads in mock despair , then realised half the terrace was going barmy, so changed our expressions and jumped for joy. No trouble at all, which back then was pretty amazing .

Arsenal Vs Sunderland at Highbury. A mate was mates with Martin Scott who kindly got us comps, in the away section obviously. Unfortunately although myself and one lad were neutral , the other two were Arsenal. After Sunderland managed to keep it nil nil for ages, the hard part was keeping my other two mates quiet-ish among all the rabid Mackems when the Arse scored late on!

For the younger listeners , Martin Scott played LB for City before moving to Sun'land.
