CityCiderEd
Thought our keeper was brilliant today and has been excellent in all his appearances so far.The back four seem so much more confident with him as well and we look so much more solid. The saves he made today were class as well and also his command of the area is something we've missed with Frankie.Catches almost everything and rarely punches or flaps at the ball and is very vocal with the defenders. One of the best signings we've made. KevP
Agreed. Well up for it, a great character. The "Oh Basso" song was sung today as "Ooooo Donnell, Oooo Donnell". Clever.
JamesBCFC
I thought both goalkeepers were very good today, a couple of very good saves by both

One BCFC
Whether he is a top keeper is questionable. But he has made a difference back there that's for sure, he is commanding, has a presence and the defence obviously trust him. Definitely a Championship keeper though and fills me with more confidence than Fielding.

brady bunch
Was going to post similar to OP. Been a fantastic signing, class above Frankie and defenders seem to be far more confident with him there
shelts
He's well classy in this division and miles ahead of Frankie. The crowd has taken to him and him to us. Lovely!!
Up The City!
Couple of quality saves, although he could have done more for their goal.
Br1stolCityBoy
His face to our crowd behind the goal when their shot flashed just past the post near the end of the game yesterday was a picture. Seems a good character to have around and at present is definitely first choice above FF.
BS3_RED
He is a quality keeper and easily first choice for me.
Slippin cider
Agreed....good signing ...has a good command of his area, distribution is good and the defenders confidence has grown which has to be good....bring on MK! COYR!
reddogkev
Thanks for the memories, FF. Don't think he'll fancy a stint as our number 2, which is looking very likely.
redsquirrel
must be nice for frankie having the pressure off him for a while.cant have been doing him much good picking the ball out the net all the time
formerly known as ivan
When is Frankie's contract due to expire? Can't see us selling him and would imagine he is one of the higher earners. Frankie is a great shot stopper but that's about it. He can't kick, can't command his area and has those moments of pure stupidity. O'Donnell is leaps above in every department and a massive reason to why our defence has improved so much. Steve Watts
Mad Frankie is still a very good goalkeeper. And a very good goalkeeper is exactly what we've been crying out for on the bench. He's unlucky that Rod has come in and done so well, but what a really good situation for us to be in. At least if we lose Rod for a game or two we're not worried about back up.
ZiderEyed
I really like Frankie, but RO'D has been so good coming in, I have no idea how he was 3rd choice at Wigan.

The club recently gave à four year contract i believe . Nice work . Good lad is Frankie but i prefer ROD .
Burts
Lets not forget Frankie hasn't had much chance with having a back 4 & looking a lot better for it Do like Odonnell tho
Lack of Action Man
O' Donnell is showing himself to be an excellent all round goalkeeper. And I really like his passion - he seems to have integrated himself into the ethos of the club very well.

He wasn't. He started the season as first choice but lost form (and his place) to Jusskelainen, he was in front of the other keeper (Nicholls, who has been on loan to the blue few) until the last few games before he joined us. My guess is that they wanted to move him on, so left him out of the squad to do so.
Bat Fastard
Frankie is a very good 'keeper - but he is just too small at this level. RO'D is big enough to dominate the area and is also a great shot stopper. The competition between them can only be good for the players as well as the team. YorkshireSection
He won us the game with some remarkable saves, huge improvement on FF who is simply way to small.

Out of their three keepers they wanted to retain the other two instead of him....seems you've disproved your own point there GC. Either way, their loss is our massive gain. Davefevs
I don't think that is what @GrahamC is saying. I very much suspect O'Donnell had value in the transfer window, and didn't want to risk him getting injured. Its a bit like us making Frank available for transfer and putting Max on the bench. Max wouldn't be second choice, just stopping something falling through if he got injured.

It's an optical illusion caused by the rake of the stands, the reflection of the sun off of the Suspension Bridge and elevated Thatchers levels. He's actually 6' 8". Yeah, heard that too, but wasn't sure of my facts. He will have freed up their wage bill though....which may have been significantly more than the youngster who's been sat on bench.
