Best Album of the 90s

Do we included live albums because Nirvana Unplugged has to be one of the finest live ones of that decade.

Keeping it local, Tricky's Maxinquaye is still one of my all time faves even in with the likes of Oasis, Portishead and MA.

Christ it was a good decade to be alive!

Jeff Buckley - Grace

Rage Against The Machine - Rage Against The Machine

Eminem - The Slim Shady LP

Weezer - Pinkerton

DJ Shadow - Endtroducing...

Sigur Ros - Ágætis Byrjun

Everything by Massive Attack, Portishead, Tricky, Blur, Teenage Fanclub and Belle and Sebastian.

OK Computer kinda stands out for me as THE best album of the 90s for me.

Just to even up the balance a bit, I think there are a lot that are better than those already mentioned:

Brothers in Arms - Dire Straits

Duke - Genesis

No Jacket Required - Phil Collins

Face Value - Phil Collins

Graceland - Paul Simon

A Kind of Magic _ Queen

Oops, posted in wrong thread! :grr:

So for the 90's it has to be:

Automatic for the People - REM

Both Sides - Phil Collins

Quench - Beautiful South

Equally Cursed and Blessed - Catatonia

A lot of my favoutites already mentioned but would add

Cast - All Change

Eels - Beautiful Freak.

Longpigs - The Sun Is Often Out

Massively underrated album and band - one of the very best during the Britpop era for me.

Some great shouts up there already so i'll just add....

Metallica - Metallica (The Black Album).

Moseley Shoals - Ocean Colour Scene

First one that came to mind was Leftfield, beaten to it. Nice to see Carter get mentions, although how anyone could opt for 1992 over 30 Something I'm not sure, and Mudhoney, touch me I'm sick, great stuff. Some excellent choices here, sadly my ravaged brain goes blank trying to think of more, I'll have to rifle through my tape collection...!

Was going to add NIN - Pretty Hate Machine but see that was 1989! Bloody hell. How about Stone Roses - Second Coming - massively underrated album. Or Pixies - Bossanova.

Entroducing was indeed a classic but Pre-Emptive Strike was so much better IMO

Orbital - Snivilisation or Insides for me

RAtM of course predicted the rise of the Donald in this video - can't believe this hasn't been more widely noticed:
