well were we finish in the league says we are.

especially over the last 15 years.

Yes, on the pitch, agreed (although we did finish 24th out of 92 just 8 years back, higher than Huddersfield and Rotherham over the last 15 years. And then 30/92 two years running Preston can match that but not the other two). But that isn't all that people are on about when they "get caught up in this big club nonsense" as you put it.

"we are a 40th to 55th club in the league ladder and that's that" you also say. With thinking like that, Reading would still be a Div 3/4 team playing to 4000 crowds, and others too would have accepted their lot and settled for being what they always have been, rather than striving to be more than that.

You are right, we are not a "big club" and a lot of nonsense is talked about this. But there is room for improvement here, we can be "bigger" than we have been, we can be "bigger" than we are now. That's what SL thinks, that's why he's spending a fortune on the ground and so on, and busting a gut to take us beyond "a 40th to 55th club."

and so arrives the striker.

I think in years gone by I have accepted relegation as an inevitable, this season just feels more important, we could go and join the likes of west brom/wolves gang or we will do a Bradford/blackpool, well you know what I mean.

and it never turned into a slanging match, makes a change on here.
