There were a couple of people suggesting that he was play acting a bit, when he was going down in agony in games and then making a quick recovery. The length of his absence suggests that he has the sort of injury that causes real pain when it is knocked again, but responds short term to the pain relief spray. LJ must be happy enough with the way the other players have stepped up to not rush him back and get him a full recovery, that's a real luxury.
