BRIAN WILSON
Blimey, there appears to be bit of a Beach Boys love in at the moment, so a little self promotion i think. My Beach Boys tribute band 'Surfs Up' are doing a relatively local show (in Bromsgrove, an hour or so up the M5) at The Artrix Theatre. Here's your chance to don that ill fitting Hawaiian Shirt ;-) I await even more BB's puns http://www.artrix.co.uk/whats-on/music/surfs-up/
Robbored
In their prime the Beach Boys were a top group - all thanks to the musical genius Brian Wilson who wrote everything they did. He, like Paul McCartney would "hear" tunes in their heads and write or record these tunes. A magical gift. Wilson had a tough childhood with a domineering father who psychology damaged the young Brian which very likely contributed to his mental health problems in later life - along with his drug use of course. If anyone gets the chance read Brian Wilson biography. It's a heartbreaking story.
BigTone
Saw them in Brisbane circa 1991 / 1992 and they were great
Bristol Rob
I went to the pub with Brian Wilson and the boys. It was chaos. All they did was argue about who was getting the drinks in. Round? Round. Get a round I'lI get a round.

Bristol Rob
The Beach Boys were a barber shop group who got lucky. The only reason they sold so many records was because you'd find them next to Bananarama in HMV

New Dazzler
Got tickets for Brian Wilson presents Pet Sounds at the Colston Hall in May (sold out first day of sales), also going to one of his 3 London Palladium gigs a week later. He's marking the 50th Anniversary of Pet Sounds, so God Only Knows if he'll be back to Do It Again.. Anyway having seen him and his fantastic band many times over the last 15 years, really looking forward to these two gigs.
