Even if its something he thinks he should have kept it to himself, did he expect top championship players begging to sign for us on 1k a week?? Could be the knock on effect of the premier league new TV deal. Relegated clubs with big parachute payments can afford wages we can't and they will be paying premier league money to keep players , and as a result those same clubs looking to sign top championship players can afford to pay much more than us. Clubs looking for promotion to get their noses in the premier league money trough will have to pay the inflated rate for players to get them there, breeches they will more than likely be after the same players. If the money is there at the top end of the table then it will pull up the wage expectation of players right down through the division.
