£10-15 for adults and kids for a fiver, chuck in a free ticket to Rugby Season Ticket holders and let's do all we can for a bumper crowd.

Agree completely with the first part of your post - £10-£15 is plenty, as is a fiver for kids....but interested to hear your reasoning for a free ticket for rugby STH's when City STH's then have to pay...  The shit storm that would follow that kind of decision would be monumental!!

Personally I think that if the club knocks of a fiver a ticket it will be 20000 + People are getting interested now, it's not the first couple of rounds now or the JPT

I think an interesting way of doing it would be to charge STH the cost of their average league match  price. Members that plus a fiver and general sale the STH price plus a tenner.

I think it will be 10,000 max. Until the quarter final I can't see it capturing the imagination of many.

So give Rugby STH a free ticket but charge City STH £10-15...?!

They can claim a free ticket as part the deal to when they bought their season ticket. Would be a good game to make available for them to do this.

Right, I'm with you now. Although I don't think their free game should be one where all football fans are having to pay.

Don't think that will work.

We have to split the gate receipts because it's a cup game. So it would cost the club significant  (I would imagine).

Correct.

Should be marketed everywhere as playing in the "last 16" too as I feel this sounds better than 4th round. Really shows that we are already quite deep into the competition :)

True - no matter how you dress it up Hull just aren't a "fashionable" team that will bring the crowds in

Pricing it correctly though will have a chance

...and West Brom last season is all the proof we need that pricing it at a tenner will attract numbers. 5000 away was an awesome achievement as again I wouldn't describe them as a fashionable team. Priced normally I wouldn't have expected much more than 2500

I go to watch City though. Not the opposition.

By that rational I presume everyone would be happy if the club said "we'll charge £10/£15 for this one, on the understanding that if we get Man Utd in the next round we'll charge £50"...?

Don't be daft you know what I mean

If we charged £25 Vs Hull, or £25 Vs Man Utd - do you honestly think the same number would be interested?

It's naïve to think the opposition don't affect the interest level and the pricing.  No one would reasonably expect an all-pay game against Man Utd to be priced the same as an all-pay game v Hull.  Even within our ordinary league fixtures we have gold and silver matches.  £50 would be excessive, but everyone would happily pay gold category prices for Utd.

Need to negotiate & agree pricing with Hull asap.... if a good price is agreed get it publicised quickly and whip up maximum interest ... no reason this tie couldn't attract a big turnout, just curiosity about the revamped stadium and maybe top tier of new stand would get a fair few in if the price is right.. besides the football.

(make it a good old fashioned Red & White Night too .. :) )

I'm not actually being daft.

What I'm saying is if it's a case of needing to reduce prices to get people in to watch a less attractive opposition and people are calling for reduced prices for it, then would those same people understand and accept it if we got Man Utd/Arsenal etc at home in the quarter finals of the club turned around and said "we did £10/15 tickets because you wanted us too. Now that's we've got the battening power then it's only fair that you pay £40/50 to get into this game that everybody wants to come and see"

That would still work out at having been £25/30 per match over the 2 matches.

I know it probably wouldn't/won't happen, I was hypothetically asking what if..?

What they should do as an extra pull for the Hull game is say that (whatever the price charged) your ticket stub, virtual on a card or physical stub, will give you priority on general sale IF we were to get a home draw in the quarter final.

Posters also seem to be forgetting that the team are beginning to attract fans because they are a joy to watch n are playing good football. Word is getting round and this is an ideal opportunity to capitalise on this.

Last 16, highest goal scorer in the country, new stand etc etc.

Maybe some specialist new marketing format could be looked at!

Is this a game when we may have to give all of the Atyeo to Hull, or at least give them the option?

No, normal away allocation applies.

Not that Hull will even take that up anyway.

You're probably thinking of the FA Cup, where FA rules state that away clubs have a right to apply for up to 15% of capacity.

In reality though individual clubs' safety advisory groups have the power to reduce allocations far below 15% if they feel safety may be compromised.
