glynriley
Shame the little lad couldn't be at the game, but a lovely gesture. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/37926623
Toblerone
Tremendous, you hear so many bad things about football. Made my day. Well done the 'dale. Can we get a link on their forum to show we support this.
Lanterne Rouge
Yeovil did something similar last week when they `signed` a young lad who is suffering from cancer as a player for a day. Gave him a proper signing on press conference and all with Darren Way welcoming him to the club and stuff like that. Thankfully he was not as ill as this lad so was able to enjoy it and got to train for a bit with the first team. Football clubs do so much stuff like this most of which goes unreported. wendyredredrobin
Wonderful gesture. Was a little perturbed by the reference to "Northern Gas" though.

BS15_RED
Heartbreaking that an innocent little 5 year old lad hasn't got long left, heartwarming to see Rochdale do this for him.

cidered abroad
This brought tears to my eyes and highlights how much good that a local football team can do within it's community. My thoughts are with his parents; how does anyone cope with the early death of one's child?

oldstandrobin
Well done Rochdale, sad to see the little lad is terminally ill, sometimes our lives are put in perspective with stories like this. Shows the human side of football especially for us who have kids and grandkids the same age. My thoughts go to his family and hope they get strength to help them.
