I'm self employed now I'm fostering so no Christmas party now, but yes every work place I was at before that had a Christmas party. I organised the last few years ones.

I can arrange a private one for us

Says the man who forgot my birthday yesterday - AGAIN!

Sweetheart I am in Kuala Lumpur on the way to visit my sick Father in Australia. I apologise profusely for forgetting that special day and will make it up to you at our private Christmas party when I smear myself with stinky cheese.

In the meantime ..... "Tooooo Yoooouuuu" :trumpet::dancing2::banana:

Fortunately not, I've have to work with them not socialise with them.

I used to dread them TBH. You daren`t have too much to drink in case you did/said something stupid and it was always cringeworthy when your bosses tried to make conversation in a social setting when they knew **** all about you or your interests and cared even less. In my experience, everyone ends up talking about work all night anyway.

Yes, work in a school and they organise it every year. I went once about 4 years ago, that was enough for me. They go for something that a clique of about 4 or 5 think is a great idea, and then tell people it's x amount which includes half a bottle of wine. No good if 1. You don't drink wine, and 2. You're driving. No matter, you can pay for someone else's.

Staff getting legless and making an arse out of themselves, then moaning about the place - just to book the same place the next year.

Me and the Wife (work in same school) usually go out by ourselves, have a much better evening, and for a fraction  of the price. Oh yeah it's actually something/somewhere we like.

My parents are foster carers and I provide restbite for my parents, we are part of a private fostering agency. They do a Xmas party for all the foster children and then us adults are all invited to a meal.

There's an activity they're doing before Christmas (trip) but it clashes with our last home game before then, so we'll both be at that :)
