African trialist has done enough to earn deal with Championship club

Bristol City have agreed a deal with young African goalkeeper Alhaji Sesay, HITC Sport understands.

The 18-year-old has been training with The Robins for a number of months, and he has impressed with a number of fine displays for their youth sides.

Sesay was spotted playing locally in London and has never been attached to a club, but he has quickly emerged as a huge talent.

Sesay and his family have Dutch passports having moved to Holland from Sierra Leone some 15 years ago, which allows him to be in England.

The highly-rated teenager has now agreed a two-year deal with the Championship club, which will see him staying at Ashton Gate until 2018 at least.

Sesay is now set to link-up with Jamie McAllister's Under-23 side but hopes are high within the club that he could be pushing for a place in the first-team squad sooner rather than later.

How many young keepers do we need? They can't all play in the under 23s unless they see him as being better than what we have

Well if an opportunity comes along to sign a decent young player then surely we need to take it.

How can you be seen as a "huge talent" and be "highly rated", without ever been attached to a club?

Also, has anyone heard of him putting in "a number of fine displays" for our Academy sides?

That makes 6 keepers on our books.

Something a bit odd here?

Is 6 that many? 2 for each team.

Can be seen here and in various other youtube videos.

Made a couple of good saves early on, then just as I was wondering what he was like with his feet, he stepped out of the area, past an attacker and hit a great 50m pass that set up the move for our 1st goal, very promising.

No problem at all with the signing but at least 2 out of Wollacott, O'Leary and O'Donnell must be on their way by season's end, I'd have thought.

Wasn't there a recent story we'd signed Asmir Begovic's younger brother (who is 16), too?

So you're happy with FF being number one? I'm not so sure, he's too small and will never dominate his area...

Didn't say I was, however O'Donnell seems out of favour after Brighton with Lucic on the bench. Honestly wouldn't be surprised if we tried bringing in a new first choice keeper.
