I agree we should always be bringing players on, having a readymade replacement already at the club makes sense, both financially and for continuity. But it also can be a bit if a cop out. I think by getting in young, relatively untried, players there isn't the pressure on the manager (or the player) that comes with one with a hefty price tag. If it works great, if not he's just another young player who failed to make the grade rather than the club being at fault for not developing him.
