man in the middle
Fantastic 1st half for Leeds United tonight, commentator said "I'm surprised Bristol City let him go " and I'm inclined to agree with him. Always have love for Luke don't care if he's our player still or not, definitely one of my favourite promotion players.
Slippin cider
And we've yet to find an equal ...having a good game so far tonight....
nickolas
Yet apparently he'd never be good enough as a RB according to some on here! Quality player. How we've let go and retained Little and a 'cant be arsed' Matthews is beyond me.
BS4 on Tour...
Still can't help thinking that if we had Greg Cunningham at left back and Luke Ayling at right back we'd be doing more than ok this season....I know it's pointless looking back etc but those two in our team now? Would anyone on here turn that down?!
Gregh94
Biggest mistake Johnson has made so far selling Ayling pure class

Jersey Bristolian
I have seen him only twice this season for Leeds attacking and defending exactly what we are missing at right back? thoughts?

formerly known as ivan
Was a good player and was gutted to see him go, however.... Ayling on his day vs Matthews on his day, there is only one winner as far as I am concerned and that's Matthews. Therefore without the guarantee of regular football at the time Ayling wanted out and we would have been wrong to stand in his way. Hindsight is a wonderful thing but no one was to know Matthews would spend the first half of the season being shit and unfit. People saying it was a mistake now is an easy thing to say. At the time I was happy with Matthews in and Ayling out and I'm pretty sure most others were as well.
Davefevs
Never saw much of Greg, but was a fan of Ayling. From my position in the South Stand I'd get 45 mins each home game, getting a pretty good view. I thought he was one that adapted to the Champ very well....others didn't. Portland Bill
For someone like Luke Ayling I would think that a move to Leeds wasn't something he felt he could turn down.
Between heaven and hell
In twelve months time we will be watching a champiionship game saying that Scott Golbourne was solid at left back why did we let him go?

Frenchay Red
Just watched him have an excellent game at Villa. His going makes no sense to me, but then quite a few things in the recent reign of our leader fall into that category.

Little was injured and had no apparent takers , Leeds were willing to pay a decent fee for Ayling at a time when we had secured an international right back from à Prem club and Luke could n't get à run in the first team. We can't always keep everyone happy .
shelts
Wanted to leave? More money per week? Much bigger club Fancied a nice signing on fee ? Last chance of a decent move ? we will never know.

Red Army 75
Do people think if he wasn't involved in pissgate . He wouldn't of been sold. BCFC Grim
Laughable some thought he wasn't good enough. Especially when Little was still at the club. Would be first choice easily.

Thought he had a decent game tonight, but wasn't really tested too often defensively otherwise he wouldn't have been so affective in the attacking third, which is where he stood out tonight
daored
Slightly off topic but know we were linked with monk as a player a few times. Was he ever seriously linked as a manager ?
Fiale
He wanted to go - not much you can do when a players contract is running down, and they want a signing on fee and move because they think they will be back up for their position (and at the time Matthews looked like he was nailed on for the RB slot). So cannot blame him or the club.
