Problem with trying to stay away is ultimately you love the club - this is why 50 year old men will sing hero worship songs to a player half their age and twice as rich.  It is pure undying love. You get angry with it but can't stay away ultimately.

Its the same love for your wife. You get pissy with her and think - stuff the moany fat bitch - she can do one, but after an hour you are missing your banter and you cave cos you realise you can't do without.

Bottom line is she is your moany fat bitch and city is your club - end of really !!

Very nicely put Neo.

I stayed away from a few games because I wasn't enjoying it and it felt more of a chore,

 i

I stayed away a few times in the Sean O'Driscoll era. Never thought I would do this but it was just too f/cking depressing at the time.

I didn't miss any games last season, tempting though it was, because despite what some claim, we never descended to the same depths of depression of the S'OD times. Also managed to get to about 8 away games last season, which I definitely couldn't stomach in the S'OD days.

Not-so-bad times.

A lot of it is not the same stuff.but my point being I am fed up of ass licking other teams for there reserves when by now we should be on a level with these teams

you haven't supported city very long have you?,

We ass licked to sign a reserve player last season, he went on to be our top scorer and under 21 international and is on the verge of signing for newcastle,

We also ass licked to sign a Center who went on to form a very good partnership and helped us stay up,

How about the reserve who came from bournmouth on loan the season before that?

Largely, the people I know who have boycotted are pay-on-the-dayers. They boycotted individual games last season. They've not been persuaded to buy a season ticket nor are planning to go to any/as many pay-on-the-day games as last season, so I wouldn't assume the 'stay away' culture hasn't manifested itself. And, with an increase in prices, I'd suggest more or less everyone who wants a season ticket has now got one. There was plenty of early bird time, with ample info about the increases in price, then a second phase which was equally well publicised, whicht heralded further purchases, now we're into the very tail end of sales.

Summer 2016, at this juncture, yielded about 1,700 final chance buyers, by my calculations. I wouldn't be surprised to see that, whilst sales are up 3% at the mo' (that only equates to about 400 people, mind), eventually we'll be a bit down on last year's 13,800.

I'm presuming that was the figure in August, I don't suppose many people bought a season ticket once we were underway, maybe a few. I'd be surprised if we topped last year's numbers (I'm talking in August, before a ball is kicked) but I guess it's possible. Some good quality signings might do it. As Red Army said, it's still a good total.

I was a pay on the dayer but for the first time decided to get an early bird season ticket

i seen enough in the last 6 games to encourage me that next season could be far more successful

I am an eternal optimist though!

Season Ticket sales continue to soar

Blues supporters are snapping up Season Tickets for the 2017/18 campaign.

More than 5,500 have now been sold as supporters come forward to back Harry Redknapp and the boys.

That's two-and-a-half times more sold by the comparable date three years ago.

And that's around 2,500 better than two years ago, when Season Tickets went on sale 37 days earlier than this season.

So it's clear that supporters are right behind Blues since the launch of the Club's #TheHeartofBlues Season Ticket campaign.

Its a strange one though because when birmingham are doing half well their attendances seem to shoot up more so than similar sized clubs.

We seem to be getting more walkups than ever before and a couple of top half finishes could see us being one of the highest in the league.

Great to see people are sticking with the club, I know people have their reasons not to due to work/financial commitments etc but it's another very good base to build from if we sign a few decent players and results go our way on the pitch.

Reckon we could beat last seasons average attendance record.

Yeah another big crowd at home v Villa and Sunderland as well I would imagine. With more away fans and a slightly better season we could break the 20k easily IMO.

Bigger crowds against the likes of Sheffield Weds & Leeds too with their sizeable away followings.

We are still a club on the up despite the awful middle part of last season.

With the ability to give them more tickets if we choose

That's what I meant. We should be giving them more to be fair, maximising revenue and creating a better atmosphere.

Always find Ashton Gate a much more hostile place when there's a big away following.

I don't wholelly agree with that, it should be limited by the number of home fans I only,

i wouldn't say give Leeds 4000 if we only sold 12k ourselves, if we've sold 20k however then yea give um them

We are pretty much guaranteed 15k minimum home fans for every game already.

I'm sure that reading about a sold out away end increases a fixtures profile and gets the floating fans to get themselves down the gate.

More the merrier, imo.
