Am I correct in saying that the refs at both that Dutch game and the Germany game in 2010 were never allowed to ref again as a result of their absolutely disgraceful performances? The one for the Holland game was replaced for his next scheduled game and never refereed internationally again. He maintained he gave, at the time, the right decision. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Karl-Josef_Assenmacher The ref for the Germany game also retired in 2010 and refereed no further games in the 2010 World Cup. It is said he was "aghast" when shown his error. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jorge_Larrionda 12 hours ago, Mad Cyril said: When I think of England performances over history, abject failure and crap management is a much stronger theme for me than injustice and bad luck. I only follow England games to make me appreciate that following City is relatively modest on the pain scale. I totally agree. Incompetence has been our downfall over the years, not bad luck.
