cityred exile Posted July 28, 2017 Posted July 28, 2017 Just seen the welsh boyo on SSN saying he has to buckle down and win over the new manager , Reckon he should have done that with L J and could have been our right back for years
Nibor Posted July 28, 2017 Posted July 28, 2017 Really not sure what happened there. He was great the season before last and then it seemed as soon as he got here either LJ was pissed off with him or he pissed LJ off and it never recovered.
Spoons Posted July 28, 2017 Posted July 28, 2017 He's got to be up there with one of the biggest 'frauds in football'!! Earnt hideous amounts of money for doing nothing!!
42nite Posted July 29, 2017 Posted July 29, 2017 I thought the thread was going to inform us that he had retired from professional football. That would have been one year too late!

Phileas Fogg Posted July 29, 2017 Posted July 29, 2017 In fairness to the guy, it was alluded to that he might have been having a tough time in his personal life with knock on effects to his mental wellbeing/confidence. Not sure if that was ever confirmed though. @spudski noticed very early on some worrying signs in his body language when he arrived last summer. If that's true, it would explain why he was so poor. We all know he can be a good player. Hope he turns his career around.

His BCTV interviews weren't riveting either. But if that is because of personal issues, then I hope he overcomes them.
fergie1919 Posted July 29, 2017 Posted July 29, 2017 Hes never set anywhere alight. Another kid that was to be 'the next best thing' .continuously injured and 2nd fiddle at Celtic. He had some solid displays but he wasnt consistent. Too much pressure put on him probably. Theres a good chance for him this year as Sunderland have a pretty poor squad and going by celtic 5-0 win over them today. We are better off without him. Probably on mega wages. Would have loved joe ledley at city though

1960maaan Posted July 29, 2017 Posted July 29, 2017 Took him ages to get up to speed when he was first on loan, but when he did he was excellent . Last term he looked unfit, disinterested and as if he didn't want to be here. It seemed he thought he should be starting for Sun'land in the Perm and was waiting for them to realise. That said , if he had other problems and things going on then that can impact massively whatever you do. Hope he turns it around as there is a very good player there somewhere, then I can abuse the crap out of him when he plays (well) against us .
