Richwilkins50 Posted August 13, 2017 Posted August 13, 2017 Since the fan park has been around, always wondered why they don't show the Saturday morning sky sports kick off on the screen above the sports bar for the people outside having a drink/fag/food. Or have they and I've missed it? I remember they showed some athletics thing on there one Saturday but only ever noticed advertising since.
Lanterne Rouge Posted August 13, 2017 Posted August 13, 2017 I don`t think they`re allowed to contractually - Sky won`t permit showing it outside the stadium.

If you have only ever noticed the advertising its done its job to be fair

Slack Bladder Posted August 14, 2017 Posted August 14, 2017 So what's the point of the outside big screen, if it's not for showing some pre-match footie? Might as well just stuck a billboard up there.
Mr Popodopolous Posted August 14, 2017 Posted August 14, 2017 Pretty sure it's rights issues. Sports rights are pretty costly in UK...guarded jealously. Either rights issues or cost club would need to pay for outdoor screen. Costs pubs a fair whack these days apparently.

Lanterne Rouge Posted August 14, 2017 Posted August 14, 2017 If @Bristol Rob has his way we could watch back to back episodes of `Lovejoy`. Possibly while eating chips.

Possibly while eating chips. You know it. I'd buy a season ticket for that. I'd even rent* my box set of episodes to Bristol Sport. (*Reasonably charged, negotiations conducted with my personal account manager)

You could be onto something here. This could be massive.
Mr Popodopolous Posted August 15, 2017 Posted August 15, 2017 Just to give a bit of an idea- pub landlords need not apply to answer this as they know no doubt. Read the other day, about the rising pub prices to show football. Average pub season ticket is?
