locobaker Posted August 22, 2017 Posted August 22, 2017 Please help. Why is not possible to buy food in the sports bar. Apart from the pre booked table pizzeria Service. Surely it must be possible for food to be available without going outside pre match.
Dollymarie Posted August 22, 2017 Posted August 22, 2017 You can now buy a pizza in a box, for £5 to take away. That's the only food you can buy in the sports bar on a match day.

There were the usual rows of reserved pre-booked (empty) tables. I was told pizza could only be bought to take away after the match so we went to KFC. Would much rather spend my few quid of hard earned money with the club if possible. Thanks
locobaker Posted August 22, 2017 Author Posted August 22, 2017 Was in first game. Staff not briefed properly. Hopefully Dolly is right.
Nomad Posted August 22, 2017 Posted August 22, 2017 Why are they called DoughBallers when they don't sell dough balls?

I kind of (and I'm honestly not saying this to brag) had a bit of a hand in it, because I went to meet the guys running the pizza place after the first two home games, because the supporters club members wanted pizza at the first home game, but the pizza guys were still feeling their way with how things on a match day were going to work, and so the pizza was only available to those sat down in the sports bar. I had a meeting with them initially on behalf of the SC&T members, to see if they could provide us with pizzas upstairs, and they went away and had a think, and as I said you can now go in and get a pizza in a box to take away. They cost £5 and are in three flavours, margarita, pepperoni and mushroom. I'm sure I'm not the only reason for this happening, but I'd like to think I played a part in it
Blazeyrobins Posted August 22, 2017 Posted August 22, 2017 unless I have missed it I have not seen a mention regarding the queuing system at the bar on Saturday, good idea and you got served quicker, but! no signage where to queue, try getting to the loos from one side to another plus less people in there so lost revenue. I go in every game and at 2.30pm it was almost empty.

Thanks Before the Plymouth game, me and my brother went in there about 5:30 and asked when the tables were booked from? The man on the desk said you can take a booth as long as we were gone by 6:15! Taking in account a pizza only takes 15 mins to prepare and cook we gladly took the opportunity to sample the pizza it was very nice. I would suggest to people that they ask what time the tables are booked from and saying you and your party would be gone by X time.

More annoying was the joy with which Man U goals were recieved by the younger ones.

Bristol Rob Posted August 22, 2017 Posted August 22, 2017 Being a fat 'thunder' (I have no desire to be naught stepped again!) I can confirm that both the pizza and garlic bread options are absolute winners. No chips mind. And who doesn't like a chip.

It's about taking on board a load of pointless starchy carb and storing it as visceral fat, getting some liquid toast in (beer), so that later in life you can take medication for type 2 diabetes! Mind you, I do like a nice pizza.

Extra £2 for a mini faux saucepan of curry Source.
Mr Popodopolous Posted August 22, 2017 Posted August 22, 2017 As I've said before. Pizza need not be unhealthy if done in certain ways. They are made quite differently in different countries.

Mr Popodopolous Posted August 22, 2017 Posted August 22, 2017 1 hour ago, Roger Red Hat said: Tell us more. OK. Perhaps I overegged as I typed quickly. Definitely can be healthier depending how made though. Basically talking as someone who has been to Italy reasonably often, some key differences between, in my experience anyway: 1. Thinner crust is rather better for someone than thicker crust. 2. In my experience, less cheese, definitely less cheese on pizzas in Italy say than here or especially America. That again makes a difference. 3. Meat toppings are quite popular here. Not universal but certainly quite popular. In Italy? More fresh vegetables. Again this is changing here and isn't universal there, but am merely going with my typical, traditional like for like. Those 3 factors alone, off top of my head, definitely make a difference. American pizzas...yeah can be real bad for you! Caked with cheese, pepperoni galore. Someone I know had one size of a round table out there- that's bad for anyone regardless of ingredients! For what it's worth, I assume these ones will be well made at AG, towards the healthier methods.
