Certainly a class act is EP, watched him a lot tonight, indeed a great reader of the game was my thought also and did he put a foot wrong? Don't think he did.

Excellent acquisition who can probably do even better.

Good first half, but I though he looked a bit off the pace as the match progressed in the second half.  He hit the bar, but that was a miss hit cross

I think he's been an inspired signing. I have confidence in our entire back 4, for the first time since gods knows when.

Was chatting to the fans in my pub tonight before the game and said watch him, he looks different class, didn't let me down. A wonderful defender with that air of danger in attack. Hopefully we have a good 3 years or so out of him.

What happened to his shorts....was he playing in his pants?

His crossing was a bit off tonight, but he is a quality defender, and good in the build-up play.

Popular guy already...  and rightly so. Settled in well, gives his all and has a good touch.

Hope he's aware he has a song already

What's his song, I sits up with the kids in the Lansdown upper so can't ear it!

Let me say this - if our whole XI was at the standard of Pisano, we'd certainly be a top 6 team, IMO.

Now where's the thread where someone (after 2 preseason games) suggested he 'won a competition to become a professional footballer'?

Most original and I like it.

I'm a fan of the guy.

My only criticism would be that he does like to stick the tackle in.

A few times tonight that was nearly misjudged and leaving himself exposed.

Against a tricky pacy winger he will need to be more canny.

Think it was the Manor Farm game....someone said he was awful.

I've decided to call him Zorro because when he was on the floor last Saturday I thought the number on his shirt looked like a 'Z'.

Think he's a good player.

Real deal full back.

Couldn't ask for anything more really - bloke would charge through a brick wall to get at the ball.

Brilliant signing.

reminds me of a certain centre half with his full bloodied commitment, excuse the pun but wow the man has the makings of a real fans favourite.

A real 'hit' for me up to now

Composed on ball , love his romps forward , not afraid to put a tackle in

but as much for his character !

When we signed him I said he looked like he could be / hoped he'd be similar to Bruno at Brighton and he actually reminds me a lot of Bruno

Great start Pisa Pisa Pisannnnooooooo

Forget my previous post, I'll return to that and apologise/make peace, on that very thread, when the time is right.

I'm still not convinced though.

Last night Villa played though the middle and had very little wide threat ( their team selection was baffling, with Hogan & Adomah on the bench)

Pisano, certainly isn't the mug that I saw during the Yeovil game, however, he can't cross for shit, seriously dire at crossing! And I still think he looks vulnerable against any sort of wide threat.

So far, 6/10 for me.

When he had to change? Had a nose bleed - presume he was made to change his shorts as blood had got on them.

From what I've seen, he's as far from a Statue as possible

I've been really impressed with Pisano. My expectations were lowered significantly when someone came on here after the Yeovil friendly saying he looked non-league or something.

Anyway, he looks a class act and our back 5 is looking really solid.

Like the "Pisa, Pisa, Pisano, Pisano, Pisano...." song; just a bit different for us that - Never know that might me ringing round Wembley come May :chant6ez:

Who do you think we are selling him to in January ? :shifty:

He is a typical italian league RB, exactly what we needed.  Our entire defence looks better for the addition of him and Baker.  Even Joe Bryan's defencive play has improved this season.

Joe had a stormer last night, I thought.  Very happy with the defensive set up this season - and with Hörður, Flinty(at the moment) Vyner and Kelly in reserve, we are better off in the back line then we've been for yonks.

From what I've seen so far really like the look of Pisano, very solid and tough to beat (what you expect from an Italian defender) Hope he can keep it up! Love little to bits, but Pisano is certainly an upgrade in class

It was mentioned during commentary that after the Brentford game he was sat in the changing room just shaking his head & saying that he couldn't believe how fast the game is here & basically doubting his ability to adjust to The Championship!

Can't wait to see him adjust to the standard, imagine the type of player we'll have on our hands then.

Something of an old school style fullback - one who thinks about defending first and foremost. He seems to have an air of composure about him and the rest of the back line looks a little less jittery than last season now in response. Good signing thus far!

Oh, and when we were defending a corner in the first half, he managed to get both hands on John Terry. Terry went near post, the cross went far and Pisano had his man on the floor in a heap among the crowd scene. Ciao, JT...

Hardly original. It's a play on words from 'The Music Man' (pia pis piano etc). That said, he's a star turn that deserves his own song, so it will do.

I'm not aware of the Piano man song , is it an Elton John song ?
